You don’t even have to decide to get ice cream, your nose just clocks in for work and makes the decision for you. And the staff is incredibly friendly. They greet you like you’re a regular, even if you’ve never been there before. Which is nice but also makes me wonder if I look like someone who eats a lot of ice cream. They’ve got all the classic Ben & Jerry’s flavors, Cherry Garcia, Phish Food, the whole crew. But when I asked for New York Super Fudge Chunk, they didn’t have it. And I tried to play it cool, but inside I was like, “Well… this is how villains are made.” The prices were a little high. Not “sell a kidney” outrageous, but definitely in the “I hope this scoop comes with emotional support” range. But then I saw the chalkboard that said the prices include sales tax because “math doesn’t taste good,” and honestly, that spoke to me on a spiritual level. If I wanted math, I’d go back to teaching high schoolers who look at me like I’m performing brand‑new material every single day. I’ll say, “Remember what we did last week?” and they stare at me like I’ve just introduced myself for the first time and asked them to solve a crime. So yeah, great smells, great people, great ice cream. Just missing my favorite flavor and a little pricey. But at least the math is done for me, which feels like a small miracle.
