Safeway on 128th only takes card payments at night. No card? You can’t buy anything. Cash is still legal, and refusing it is ridiculous. Not everyone carries a card 24/7, and forcing people out over payment method is unfair and lazy. Safeway needs at least one register that takes cash at all hours. This policy is short-sighted and frustrating. Don’t punish customers just because they don’t have a card.

I previously shopped at Safeway a couple times a week but never again. After a long trip I pulled into Everett with plans to grab some snacks and use the restroom. The bathroom required a code so I asked a clerk and was told I couldn’t use the bathroom until after I bought my groceries. I told her I planned to shop after using the restroom and was refused access. I’ll never stop at a Safeway again.

I just witnessed not only an employee, but the manager as well completely disrespect a customer. The manager even went as far as to personally grab the man's food with her bare hand that he just paid for and try to keep the item away from him. When the man asked for his item he paid for back and asked what gave her the right to touch his food with her bare hand she decided to pull her phone out and start shouting at him she's calling the cops and grabbed another food item directly out of its package/bag and tell him he's not gonna get anything and told him to leave. All the while keeping his paid product in her hands even though I literally watched him pay for said items. It's very sad to see a manager handle a situation so poorly. You'd think someone who's in charge of the store and other workers would be more mature and professional when handling a customer regardless of the scenario
