While shopping, I noticed a tall frumpy man (likely loss prevention) following me closely throughout the store. He appeared at every aisle I entered and was clearly observing me, even though I wasn't doing anything unusual. I've never stolen from any store and take pride in being an honest shopper, so this experience was deeply offensive and made me feel profiled rather than welcomed. I completely understand the need for loss prevention measures to protect the business—it's important and I support it—but the approach here felt excessive and discriminatory in this case. I hope Safeway can review training for loss prevention staff to ensure discreet, non-intrusive methods that don't alienate loyal, paying customers. I'd like to continue shopping here, but incidents like this make it harder to feel valued as a regular patron. Overall, the store team is great, but this one aspect needs improvement to maintain the positive reputation this location has earned with me over the years.
