  BEWARE OF INSULTING, DEFAMATORY “SANDWICHES”! In my 37 years on this earth I have had my share of disappointing, overpriced meals, but this Philly Cheese "steak sandwich" was the first to go beyond disappointment and into the realm of insulting. Honestly, this thing was such a sorry excuse that the people of Philadelphia might all have grounds for a defamation lawsuit… In their extremely misleading advertisements, thick, juicy strips of steak were generously applied, and bursting from the seams of the sandwich. Mouthwatering stuff. To my great dismay, when I received my (toasted bread?), I initially thought they had forgotten to add the meat. Upon peering inside the enormously oversized box (compensating for something, John!?), I found that there WAS in fact “steak” inside of the bread! Tragically, it had merely been sprinkled on as though it were a seasoning… rather than the centerpiece of the meal, as it should have been. I promise I was polite and didn’t blame her personally, but today was the first time in my life I’ve ever felt the need to confront a service worker about a meal. When I asked why my “steak sandwich” was nearly devoid of steak, she informed me that management had imposed strict rations on the amount of meat they were allowed to sprinkle onto the bread! We can do better, Bham! Boycott Papa Johns, and warn all your Philadelphian friends about this assault on their culture!

  A big shout out to Papa John's! I found one of their 'Easter eggs' (a branded beach ball) over Easter Weekend which won me a free large one topping pizza! We got the Italian Sausage, which was very flavorful. I'm generally not a red sauce fan (I much prefer white) so all I can really say is their red sauce was tomato-y and thankfully not excessive. Good coverage of cheese but the absolute best part was the hand tossed crust. Fluffy and consistently cooked- no hard or chewy spots. You could pick up a slice with one hand if necessary and eat it like you should be able to eat a pizza.... It doesn't droop, the toppings don't slide off and it's not dripping with grease. Thank you for this fun giveaway and I'll definitely be back!
