don’t forget to carry an ibuprofen on you if you ever plan on entreating this shabby, icky establishment to your undeserved business. make sure you have already cultivated a personal friendship with the staff if you want to be served within a 20 minute timeframe, even if there are no other customers there. this is especially important because you will be waiting at least 20 more minutes while they microwave a pretzel out of a costco package, being visually and sonically assaulted by their outrageously offensive party-bus-esque lighting setup and their god-awful surf rock pandora station. i personally would simply avoid this restaurant altogether.
This place is a local favorite. I suggest anything on the menu. It has such a great vibe and the staff are amazing! Love it!
Frank was a humble frankfurter, resting comfortably in a warm bun on a busy Coney Island boardwalk stand. He dreamed of being topped with mustard and shared. Suddenly, a hungry child picked him up. "Best day ever," Frank thought, moments before savoring the sunshine and being happily devoured, fulfilling his destiny as a perfect summer snack. Frank doesn't crumble. Frank relished the idea of having to ketchup with his friends. He mustard up the courage to work on his buns of steel, gluten-free from worry about being all jalapeño business.
Suddenly, the hot dogs spoke. They told him life was on a roll, destiny was pre-heated, and it was his bratwurst fear holding him back. Awakened and lightly steamed, Frank accepted his fate as the chosen one—the top dog in a world where every frank had a purpose, and no thought went un-condimented.
The food was ok. Decent atmosphere. The staff was dealing with the stress of the line being full of tickets pretty well. Lids off to them!

Not only is the food at this place amazing--including a WIDE variety of options--the team at El Capitan is unbeatable. We so loved the joint that we decided to host our wedding after party at El Capitan. We were able to work directly with the owner, Marc Ravais, to coordinate one of their BOMB karaoke DJs for the party, and Marc himself bartended for us in the back pirate-themed party and dining room. Our guests had a fantastic time, and Marc made it all SO EASY!
We can't wait to be back to Bham to dine and party at El Capitan!

I love this place. It's THE local late night stop. Unpretentious and welcoming to all. Perfect place to grab a quick bite and some good beer on tap. Plus they're going to be featuring my girlfriend's newest art installation.
