- SSStefei B (Stefei)Mar 12, 20261.02 older gentlemen at guest services first told me that it was not, in fact guest services, despite the large sign hanging above. One walked away, and the other just stared at me. I asked about exchanging a jar of mayo I had bought the night before; I had gotten a jar of plant-based mayonnaise accidentally and didn't notice until I had gotten home. I had my digital receipt, but APPARENTLY there are no exchanges without the paper receipt, which I had discarded upon leaving the store last night. I could understand not refunding for a product with a digital receipt (sort of), but my online receipt shows the store and the date in addition to the items. Not allowing an exchange seems petty. The plant based mayo includes modified food starches that make me sick (blood sugar spikes and gastrointestinal issues); I had to throw it away. To add insult to injury, the guy who refused to even glance at the digital receipt and provided the trash can told me "No problem" as I was walking away. Furious and disgusted. I'll be avoiding Safeway, Albertson's, and anything else owned by Cerberus Capital Management. Guess the first guy was right. That wasn't guest service, because they have no such thing.
