  Safeway has a complete inability to be truthful in their estimates for grocery delivery times. Sometimes it shows up an hour late, sometimes it shows up 4 hours late. I can’t sit around all day waiting for groceries that were supposed to be delivered hours ago when I have a job I have to go to. Charging people extra for a specific delivery window then being multiple hours late is ridiculous.

  I really used to love this place until one day I came in and bought some ribeye steaks for my dogs dinner among other things like, charcoal and everything else I needed to barbecue his food. While at the self checkout, the lady came over and was accusing me of stealing the steaks! I said, "excuse me?!" And she said, "I want to make sure you paid for those steaks!" So I gladly handed her my receipt, and as soon as she saw the steaks were paid for on the receipt, she felt incredibly stupid ( I could see it on her snobby face) I continue to check out because I was doing two different transactions and she stood there at her register just mean muggin me from a distance like I was some kind of criminal thief! The only time I ever stole anything, I was maybe 5 or 6 years old and stole a candy bar, (I got caught). They took me to the back in a tiny room and interrogated me until My mom and the cops came (which was extremely excessive for a 6-year-old) I remember my mom being extremely mad, so that experience alone scared me straight to where I've never stolen anything again in my life! Also, they really should post there hours of operation for the deli.

  I go to Safeway at least 5 days a week and spend a minimum of $200/week. I used to be a cashier and know how to work a self checkout so I don’t need to ask for help and bother anyone. HOWEVER, I purchase beer a few times a week and it’s ALWAYS an issue. The cashiers see you standing there and either continue their conversation or just ignore you altogether. I’ve watched so many people get annoyed and leave.. probably thousands of dollars out the door. Then when they finally “notice” you you’ll get a huff and a puff. I’m so sorry you had to swipe your badge and do your job. I called and left a VM with corporate, then I spoke to someone who was going to “make this a priority” and “escalate the situation.. someone should be contacting you in x48 hrs” but that never happened. My complaints are these: your cashiers should be a little nicer and prioritize the needs of the customer. Maybe some re-training or getting rid of the insufferable. Don’t make it feel like we are going to a second job on our way home from our first.
