I'm a Safeway club member, use the app and shop at Safeways all over western Washington. This store is consistently the dirtiest store. The women's bathroom was very bad and had an overwhelming odor and I backed right out.
The lady in blue shirt at self check was horrible and I am not sure why she is in the customer service business. I was there today 1/11/26 at 15:38 self checkout.

The products here always seem to be good, and get whatever job done i need.
But holy smokes its like a transient hangout station. Groups of 10+ undesirables hanging out all around the outside of the store (including right next to the entrance.) Today was extra bad, there was even a group inside the entry way just standing there picking at themselves. Definitely not a welcoming look.

The Aberdeen Safeway. That's my safeway, not Oakland! It's really, too high priced But it's a good and close to home store. My main complaint is, there's never enough parking. Whenever I go to Safeway, there tends to be more cars than customers however, the Gouda cheese slices were, really flavorful!

If you have people pay for delivery and offer it as a service, it should be usable. It's basic Logistics to only have delivery slots that can actually be covered. If you have two people for the whole of the delivery service, guess what it's not operational. This Safeway simply did not hire the Personnel to actually have this be a thing. Albertsons the people that own Safeway is an almost 19 BILLION dollar company and didn't invest in its infrastructure. They purposely set their own people up for failure. It's not rocket science. If you only have two people working you need to limit your delivery slots. If you're not capable of doing the job, just don't.

I love my Safeway. However, I do have two suggestions:
1. Please put some paper towels in the produce section. The constant spraying of the produce results in wet messy hands and it's usually really cold back there causes freezing hands!
2. Please put a weekly flyer holder at the back of the store (ie by the dairy area or bakery). Often I need to check something as I don't always have my cellphone and if I forget to get the flyer when I come in, I have to walk all the way back to the front.
I want to mention that the locking carts are wonderful. Thank you so much for doing that. I also appreciate how clean the store always is and how great the employees are. I feel like all the cashiers are friends!
