- LSLauren StaceyFeb 17, 20262.0There have now been two separate instances where I've witnessed blatant and known shoplifting at Hannaford in Brandon. Employees seem to think there is nothing they can do and let these people just walk out of the store with carts full of groceries. I understand our police department is short staffed and our laws are completely lacking when it comes to enforcement, but if I was in Hannaford administration I'd seriously consider increasing loss prevention presence. It's sad to see, and even more frustrating for the people who work their tails off to pay their own grocery bill with their own money. Maybe the stolen merchandise is not a big deal to Hannaford and doesn't make a dent. Their prices are higher than average and they get away with it - being the only grocery store for miles, they have the market cornered. Frustrating.
