  The customer service here is amazing. We absolutely love Anna & Jose at Deli they're ALWAYS smiling and making jokes with us, interacting with us while they're cutting our cold cuts. We get alot of cold cuts by the way and they never show that they're annoyed like other supermarkets. They're also patient with us when we're indecisive and willing to help us with what we're looking for. I came in today because of the time we came in we had to do self-service. At 1st we was disappointed, but Jayla made our experience pleasant. I Want to point out I absolutely love ALLLLLLLLLLL the staff members there they're ALWAYS helping my family when we come. I didnt get everyone's name just wanted to acknowledge EVERYONE at this location because at one point of my visits EACH of them has helped and they deserve their recognition as well. So thank you to EVERYONE at this location for ALWAYS making our visits pleasant.

  The behavior of the self-checkout machine left me feeling gross, insulted, and dehumanized. I could not get my lentil package to scan because the barcode on the package was located in a crease. I flattened one package out and scanned it four times and then put my four packages of dried lentils in the bag. The machine immediately locked my transaction and started blinking. A warning flashed on the screen saying something like the cashier was needed to check my purchases. The machine then replayed spy camera video right in front of me putting my lentils in the bag. I told the employee that I was not stealing anything. He sort of laughed and said, "I believe you." I told him I knew this was not his fault but the machine's behavior feels like an accusation of theft and it is insulting. The employee made the machine work and I paid and left, feeling violated and gross. I think Food Lion, and perhaps all retailers, should reconsider using self-checkouts if the machines operate in this manner. 2/3/26 The 5592 Staples Mill Plaza location is otherwise a good Food Lion.

  We come here often. They carry some items we can't find in Walmart. Clean establishment, the staff is nice. Good wine selection for non wine snobs. Theyre always working to restock the shelves.
