  We have been to plenty of Cava’s and when we walked into this one in Virginia Beach, it was disappointing. Customer service is so important and I’m quite surprised as to who the manager here has hired for the front staff. We had two high school aged/maybe early college age serve us for our bowls. The first one was okay, didn’t say much but that’s okay. Maybe she was having a rough day. The next girl who did our toppings just had a face like we were a bother to her. Not sure as to why but she did not give us a friendly look. Doesn’t look good for the front staff. The cashier was a sweet lady, she atleast made it worth while. Unfortunately due to their lack of decent customer service we were not able to truly enjoy our food.

  Almost everyone standing around doing nothing. Everything was empty, line with at least 5 customers waiting with no urgency from employees. Poor service, acted like they were not wanting to be there. Poor customer service

  I’ve never had any issues with this CAVA before, but this visit was very uncomfortable. I ordered a pita, and the employee preparing it did not use a spatula to spread the dips. Instead, he used his hands to rub the pita together. When another worker rolled my pita, it was just folded in half like a taco and not wrapped properly before being placed in the bag. As a result, the contents were coming out from both the top and bottom. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was that the employees were openly commenting in front of me about how poorly it was folded and how messy it was going to be, and then handed it to me anyway without fixing it. The restaurant was not busy at the time, so there wasn’t any rush. I understand mistakes happen, but this felt very careless and awkward. Customers can clearly see and hear everything happening right in front of them, so professionalism and basic food-handling standards really matter. I hope this feedback helps improve future experiences.

  This is wild to say but I was standing in line at this location when I got a phone call my grandma had passed. Now typically I would refrain from returning to a place that had such a horrible moment attached to it. HOWEVER the line that day was so beyond kind and respectful. Cava is such a staple in my house and they will continue to be simply based on the customer service at this location. Thankful that this is where I was and the people surrounding me were so kind. I came in again tonight to pick up my online order and they were, once again, so kind. Ken, I believe, is who assisted. He informed me that they were out of one of my protein options but quickly addressed the issue and made the change. Cava once again exceeded my expectations. Shoutout to the pembrooke location for always being personable, kind, respectful, and most of all, quick!

  I don’t usually leave reviews, but I wanted to share my experience at this CAVA location. I don’t come often because it’s pretty pricey (almost $30 for one person), but every once in a while I get a craving and don’t mind paying when the food and portions are worth it. Unfortunately, this visit was really disappointing. I came around 7 PM and they were already low on a lot of items, and it felt like they didn’t want to refill anything fresh. The portions were also noticeably smaller than usual — especially the roasted veggies, which are normally my favorite. I was only given a tiny scoop. My order was also made incorrectly multiple times (I asked for a sauce on the side and it was put directly on the bowl). The chicken and steak tasted like they had been sitting out, the steak was hard, and even the pita chips were overly salty and hard. Another big issue was cleanliness. The restaurant didn’t feel very clean, and the drink machines were honestly filthy — sticky and dirty enough that I didn’t even want to put my cup near them. Considering the drinks are a big part of the experience, I expected that area to be wiped down. I spent $28 and couldn’t even eat my meal. I did get a refund (staff was polite), but I was only refunded $20, so it still felt a bit off. Overall, the staff wasn’t rude, but the food quality, portions, and cleanliness ruined the experience. I’ll be trying a different CAVA location next time I have a craving.
