I’ve been going to this Giant for years. We’ve gotten our daughters pull apart cupcakes from Adam at the bakery (so good and a wonderful experience) and holiday dinner items here. Today was a really bad experience and I’m disappointed in not only the experience outside but the response from customer service on the phone. I got a 5 gallon jug of water which is around 40lbs. I got it myself from the store and am able to put it in my car. As I’m unloading my trunk, the gentleman who was gathering the carts at the front of the store, appears right behind me. I saw him out of the corner of my eye walking in my direction, but still had a pretty far distance. I was busy trying to get bags to fit in my trunk. I thought he was going to the car corral as I was parked right next to it but as he got closer he went to my cart and picked up the jug of water. He didn’t introduce himself. He didn’t say hey would you like any help? He just went to the cart, grabbed my item and stood there. It took me a second to get my keys out and lock my car, but I didn’t feel like I was able to say oh no, I’ve got it because he already had my item in his hands. He puts it in my car, I say thank you, open my door to leave and he goes “oh, no dollar for me helping you”. In no way did I ever indicate that I needed help or wanted help and the tone that he said it was as if he was entitled to money because he chose to insert himself into my business. I called the store and let them know that happened, the lady on the phone apologized, said they would handle it, but it was very apathetic. I tip generously at restaurants and services, I realize that’s a form of income from tipping. However, what made me most uncomfortable was the way he came up to me grabbing my item along with his tone and body language after. I don’t want to come back especially with my kids. I didn’t feel like I had a chance to speak up for myself because it happened so fast. The whole experience just left me disappointed and honestly angry.

The workers are so nice each time I go. I order pickup a lot— so I especially have good interactions with that team. The food selection has always been great and they’re always friendly, respectful, and apologetic if an item is out of stock or there is a longer than usual wait time. My dog also loves coming along with me.

Adam made a beautiful cake for my 3yr old! When I went to pickup, there was a mixup with the colors, but he remade the cake in time for the party. The person who took my order needs training (they had to ask me how to spell unicorn, and then the color mixup was due to them misspelling rainbow (they wrote “ranbo” but it was barely legible).

The bakery department and Adam are the best at making these breakaway cupcake cakes. Made my daughter's bday so special as she loved her Puffin.

Good selection, and the self-check out speaks to you at a reasonable volume
