Overall very disappointing.
--- There was no valet parking – attendant was not there. No problem – there’s a parking garage. But there’s no validation for that – so pay on your way out. (A small item, but aggravating)
--- I have had more attentive wait-staff from Applebee’s. Not rude, not incompetent, but not attentive and not special. The expectation, for a place that will set you back >$100 / plate, is not ‘this is not terrible’.
--- Again, for the price point, the food was disappointing. An adequate crab cake, but less rich than the one I prepare at home; a bland lobster bisque; and an admittedly good steak – which it really should be for the size of the check – but not one that I’ll be raving about, just a ‘good’ steak.
Tyson’s and NoVa are full of good restaurants that meet or exceed expectations consistently. Having sampled this one I’ll pass in the future.

Wow, first time visiting this outlet of the Palm-12/13/2025. What a huge disappointment and not a cheap one either. We have no problem paying a premium for good food and good service but both failed this Saturday evening before Christmas. Being next to the Ritz Carlton Tysons I believe, actually hurts this restaurant. They have a built in clientele along with business lunch crowd during the week. So the effort just isn’t there. To start the “complimentary” valet is only good when you actually have someone working. I drove in a circular driveway 4 times and saw zero valet attendant at the restaurant’s entrance. Next the food- steak and lobster- was a nice mix of cold beef and overcooked seafood. Nice touch there. Then topped off by a rushed dessert service as the staff was very clearly more interested in closing and leaving for the night than customer service. For the hefty price this was a huge disappointment but now I can spend hard earned money at other more professional establishments in the same immediate area. Eddie Vs comes to mind. Don’t expect this particular Palm to hang around as it is most definitely on the down side of its presence in the area. The final insult btw was when we went to leave no one at all even attempted to man the coat check room. Again, very classy touch there. Never again.

Five Stars, Every Single Time
Our family Christmas dinner at The Palm was exactly what we’ve come to expect, which is perfection.
We enjoyed the branzino, crab cakes, oysters, calamari, mashed potatoes, lobster mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, creamed spinach, multiple cuts of steak, and a few salads. Every dish was cooked beautifully and full of flavor. No misses. Not even close.
This has become our Christmas tradition, and for good reason. Beyond the food, The Palm always makes us feel like family. That kind of consistency, especially during the holidays, is rare and appreciated.
We also took a slice of carrot cake to go, and let me tell you, that slice easily feeds two to three people. Rich, moist, and absolutely delicious. The perfect ending.
If you’re looking for a place that delivers incredible food, warm service, and a true sense of tradition, The Palm at Tyson’s Corner never disappoints. We’ll be back next Christmas, and honestly, probably before then.

On the excellent side .... our service at the bar and the table were both exceptional. And the Caesar salad was exceptional - not too much dressing but a nice taste. And the coffee was really good.
The ribeye was good but not great. The bernaise sauce which cost an extra $5 on an $80 steak (seemed petty) was very bland. The garlic mashed potatoes were a bit cool and had the sheen of a mix. They were not great. My husband had the primed rib for $80 and he thought it was a 1-2 star prime rib. Highly disappointing at any price.
The carrot cake cream cheese icing was bland. It had no texture or flavor - like they didn't use much cream cheese in making it.
We sat in a booth that was so small that I had to contort myself to eat. I think they made some booths normal size and others undersized. So it was pretty uncomfortable. And the pictures on the wall are from people who were famous in 1990. I googled them. Note to management - that was 35 years ago.
All in all I would say that it was below average food if you ignore the price tag. If you factor in the cost is was really bad for a $300 meal. Oh and we had to pay $10 for parking to pay $300 for a below average meal.

Save your money and dine elsewhere. When we entered the restaurant I had to go looking for someone to seat us which was fair warning of what was to come. Our steaks came before our appetizer plates had been removed so someone was scurrying to remove those plates as the steaks were placed on the table. The gentleman placing the sides on the table literally dropped them on the table ( in retrospect, maybe the dishes were hot? but still….) My steak was not cooked correctly and had to be sent back. No apologies, no visit from the manager, Truly unheard of in a steakhouse of this caliber ( or at least that charges these prices). I actually could go on regarding the state of the dining area and its disarray but I think my point has been made. The food was fine. So many other options to choose from in the DC area for fine dining. We won’t be back.
