Okay, so I went in there after a long day, so keep in mind I was really tired when this happened. I'm a little unfamilar with their drinks, so I asked them whether the refreshers had caffeine in them or not. They says no. I can't have any caffeine, I have be careful when chocolate. I can feel the effects of roughly 5mg of caffeine, 10mg is too much for me, so the amount that's in those refreshers would have given me adverse effects and kept me up all night if I were to trusted her response.
I did trust her response at first, so I bought one. As they were preparing my drink, I saw the big advertisment for them(I know, I should have read it before buying the drink, but still, lying to the customer if wrong.), it advertised each refresher had 20 mg of caffeine in it.
When I saw a second employee, I asked them about the caffeine again, and she said yes, but only a little bit. Honestly, I was pretty appalled at her response. I told them I can't have any caffeine, and caffeine was in fact, an added ingredient, so she shouldn't have said no when I asked her that question.
They apologized, and offered me something else on the menu, since I've already spent money on the drink. So, I asked for the donut holes.
They suggested another drink, the lemonade. I scanned the menu to see if I could find the lemonade, but didn't see it anywhere on the menu. Being as tired as I was, I said yes. I really wanted to get it overwith. I took a small sip of the drink after they gave it to me since I was curious what is tasted like.
After walking out of the store, I googled their lemonade, and I found those Dunkin Donuts used to have a lemon refresher on their menu, and since it was likely a refresher they gave me, so I had no choice but to assume they gave me a drink made with leftover ingredients they had from their summer LTO to make the drink for me.
After discovering that, I just poured the drink on the ground, I don't think they took me seriously when I told them I can't have any caffeine.
Look, I've worked in a few restaurants. So, I know if a customer asks if there is a particular ingredient in there, and you knowingly lie, despite the fact that there is only "a little bit" in there, that is something most employees get in trouble for. When a customer says they can't have a certain ingredient, you always take it seriously, even if you personally think it's silly.
Thank you for reading this.
