  I came into tropical smoothie around 10:00am this morning with cash expecting to get a nice smoothie and meal but was rudely told that they could not accept my $50 bill. I then asked if it was due to the lack of cash available in the drawer (I have worked food service and know that can be the case early in the morning) but was told they just wouldn’t take it. They then told me maybe I should carry smaller bills on me and that they can’t do anything about it (also mentioning I should go to food lion/an atm to get smaller bills). The two girls kept making nasty comments at the counter once I started walking away saying how my money was fake but they didn’t even check it. I then proceeded to come back 10 minutes later with smaller bills and they gave me the worst service being extremely short with me (and looking back at one another over and over again) while I remained nice even telling them to have a great day. One of the girls names was Alexis P. but I didn’t get the managers name, both were two younger black women with facial piercings. I expect more from a business like Tropical Smoothie considering I love their food but it just seems like they will hire anyone nowadays without having them properly trained in customer service.

  Food was nasty, soda was expired, employees don't acknowledge customers then roll their eyes when you try to get their attention. Waste of time and money.

  20+ minutes for a smoothie with little customers is unsat.

  Every time I have tried to order here I wait at the register for 10+ minutes and no one comes to take my order. Very disappointing.

  The absolute worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. This location has never given me a "great" smoothie, so I typically try to avoid it. However, my daughter just finished her concert down the road and this was the closest location. We checked and saw that it closed at 9:00 that night and because it was only 8:15, we knew we had time. Not only was the staff incredibly rude, the cashier actually acted annoyed that she had to move her one headphone off of her ear to take our order. Her music was loud enough that she could clearly still listen to her "jams" with the other one on her ear. I should have left then but again, my daughter really wanted Tropical Smoothie to celebrate her concert. Finally got our food and sat down to eat. Noticed at 8:35, everyone behind the counter was starting to come around and stare at us/our table. I told the kids to try and finish up, so my youngest daughter (9yo) went to use the restroom before we headed out. THEY TURNED THE LIGHTS OFF ON US! WHILE my child was in the bathroom! AT 8:42! Thankfully I went to meet her at the bathroom door because she was terrified to walk out into a dark restaurant. We headed back to the table and I told them to wrap up so we could leave. The staff actually came out to look at us AGAIN and said "Oh my God they are stillll here!" really loudly. I was livid. We were home before the store was even scheduled to close. We love Tropical Smoothie and frequent other locations often. It is unfortunate this one is so terrible because I pass by it every single morning. It would be my Starbucks if they were not so horrible. **Edited to add** hilarious that their panned response keeps repeating a place to report our issues. The site does not even recognize their address as a Tropical Smoothie location
