Very disappointing. Service was slow and cursory; they needed reminders for several things we ordered, and even then we didn’t get everything. Our steaks were the same quality as Outback and three times the price.
We checked out happy hour at J. Gilbert’s Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood to see if it was worth keeping our Friday night dinner reservation. It wasn’t—we canceled immediately after.
Service at the bar was unacceptable. The older bartender ignored us most of the time, and when he wasn’t ignoring guests, he was loudly scolding other staff about “missing pens” and other issues. It created a tense, unprofessional atmosphere that made it hard to enjoy anything.
The breaking point: it took 30 minutes just to get our check—and not even from him, because he had stepped away for a cigarette break.
Meanwhile, food coming out of the kitchen was constantly being delivered to the wrong people. Table after table had issues. It felt completely disorganized.
We came in hoping to add this place to our regular rotation. Instead, we walked out certain we won’t be back—and we canceled a Friday night reservation because of it.
Management: skip the copy-paste apology response. This needs real operational fixes. You’re losing customers.

You can really taste the wood fire grill in the food! I had an excellently cut 8oz Filet, delicious bourbon maple Shrimp, + sides grilled Asparagus and whipped potatoes were incredible.
Upscale comfortable bar and restaurant, and the best part was the friendly, thoughtful service I got from Naomi at the Bar! The entire staff was very attentive and professional.

I used to really enjoy this place. In the past, they did an excellent job with steak—beautifully grilled, juicy, and cooked with real precision. That is exactly why this latest visit was such a disappointment.
I ordered my steak medium rare, but what arrived was unevenly cooked. One part was closer to medium, while the other part was medium rare. I understand that the kitchen is juggling multiple steaks and that consistency is not always easy, especially during a busy service. Still, that is exactly what you expect a steakhouse to get right.
When you go to a place like this and pay steakhouse prices, you are paying for execution as much as the food itself. If the kitchen cannot deliver a properly cooked steak, it is hard to justify coming back.
This meal left me genuinely disappointed, especially because I know this restaurant is capable of much better. Unfortunately, after this visit, I am not sure I will return.

Classic upscale dining environment with excellent food and service. Had a corporate dinner in one of their private dining rooms which was perfect for our group size and the occasion. Staff was friendly, efficient and unobtrusive. Menu has lots of great choices and the food is delicious. Try the homemade Blue Cheese chips, they are great. Sea Bass was excellent and the 24 layer cake is huge and wonderful.
