  It's a strange thing as an adult to spend a lot of money at a restaurant, only to get dressed down by the manager for an odd reason. We have dined at Divan for years, but had an incredibly disappointing evening while out for a birthday dinner. The food was average and below past quality, but the most recent annoying part was the terrible service from the manager. He berated a member of our party for walking to the outside patio through a wrong door. It was unprofessional, unnecessary, very extra, and ruined the entire vibe of dinner. We will not be going back. There are too many local Persian restaurants with more reasonable prices to deal with a restaurant manager’s ego trip. Oh, and the manager - knowing we were not happy with him - went out of his way to avoid us. Including by scurrying into the back as we were leaving. Kinda funny, but also annoyingly unprofessional.

  What a wonderful experience. We dined at Divan over the weekend and found every aspect of the service to be astounding- from the quality of the food and warm ambiance to the level of professionalism and care by the staff. We will certainly be back and soon!

  Good: The service here is great. Love the individual sized rice with crispy tahdig, the mirza ghasemi, and the creative cocktails. Bad: other dishes are not up to my taste. For example almost every item on the menu is tart (even too tart depending on your preferences) except the kabob torsh which is extremely sweet and chewy. I can confidently say this was the worst kabob torsh I had in my life. The lamb koobideh had an unpleasant smell and taste but the beef koobideh was pretty good. The stuffed fish stuffing was too sweet for my taste. The baghali batogh was decent. The tahchin was ok.

  Have usually had a great experience here but recently the service has really gone down, I think likely because they are understaffed. Waited over 40 minutes for our food and waited some time just to be approached by the server as well. I think these issues could be solved with better staffing and perhaps a better layout of the restaurant. The food is great. They were kind and gave us tea for waiting, and the server once he did come back to us was pleasant.

  Easily one the best dining experiences in dmv. The food, ambiance and service is so good and worth the price tag. I have tried a couple of Persian / Mediterranean restaurants in the area but divan has topped my list. The food was so flavourful and generous in proportion, we were very full by the end of our meal. The atmosphere was buzzing because it was Eid and nowruz in the same day and I don’t think I’ve ever seen the dmv so festive! We met up with a big crowd and the service was seamless. Mr. Raim was very attentive and we had a lovely chat about him being in my home country and he even spoke a little in my language haha. We are very happy with our time in divan and we hope to come back soon for all our celebrations! Thank you divan for letting us enjoy the best Eid afternoon with good food and comforting hospitality. God bless Iran.
