I am shocked by how this location has gone down. I stopped going here because the donuts are never at least warm. I have a couple vouchers for original glazed donuts from a fundraiser I’ve been trying to use for the past 2 weeks but there is always a problem… Every time I try to go before work, the drive thru is closed. I went Thursday around 7pm and drive thru was open, but still sat in line for 20 minutes just to be told they were OUT of original glazed donuts. I still got some chocolate iced ones and they were COLD like they just came out of a fridge. Highly disappointed in this establishment.

usally good, whoever the young lady is who worked the night shift 11/21 has an attitude problem. i waited patiently at the drive thru wasn't sure if it was open after 5 minutes but when she got on the intercom gave me a lot of attitude that the drive thru was closed. no welcome no apology just straight "drive thru is closed the whiteboard is there for a reason so u don't order." as someone who had a long shift in healthcare and just wanted a donut this was a very unpleasant experience that could've been avoided with a simple "sorry ma'am our drivethru is closed." did not need the attitude and she will be the reason i'll no longer order from this location.

After my third try, I give up. All three times "hot light" was not on. Twice drive thru was closed. The time the drive thru was opened they were out of glazed donuts. Last visit was yesterday, at 6pm, the drive thru was closed. Not sure why this location was reopened after being closed for several months. After 15+ years, this location should have stayed closed. I won't be back. Really disappointed.

Google says they are open until 10pm. The sign on their door says they are open until 10pm. Today was my son's birthday. We always take him to get donuts on his birthday because he prefers that over cake. So after dinner we drove over and arrived at 7pm on the dot. Everything was shut down, no dounts out at all. Employees were putting jackets on ready to go. They said "we only have chocolate iced left. Fortunately my son likes those so we got a few. I made the comment "I've never seen it like this before" and the employee said "that's why happens when we are about to shut down." ......it's 7pm....if you are advertised to be open until 10pm, then why weren't you? No sign on the door or anything. This was extremely disappointing.

No Fresh Doughnuts, No Hospitality — A Wake-Up Call for Krispy Kreme When a supervisor can ignore customers for minutes on end, it’s more than bad service — it’s a warning sign for the brand’s future in Richmond. I visited this Krispy Kreme location around 8 p.m. on October 28 2025. The drive-thru lane was blocked with signage showing it was closed, so I went inside. The signature conveyor belt—usually running hot, fresh glazed doughnuts—was idle. At the counter, two employees were near the drive-thru window rather than the register. One stood with her back to me; the other was kneeling and looking in my direction but offered no greeting or acknowledgment. Several employees in the back showed the same indifference. I waited several minutes without anyone addressing me while more customers entered. A different employee eventually emerged from behind a donut rack and greeted us. When I asked how he was doing, he replied, “I’m here.” I asked him if he was the manager. He said he was not the manager and pointed to the woman who still had her back turned—identified as Tia, the supervisor on duty. She never turned around or offered assistance. When I asked whether a dozen glazed doughnuts were available, he said, “No, what you see is what we have.” I thanked him, wished him a good night, and left. Other customers who entered after me received the same curt response and also left. Shortly afterward, the supervisor exited the store, got into her car, and remained parked outside. Later, I observed other patrons entering and receiving friendly, attentive service—a sharp and concerning contrast. This occurred during a time of national economic strain: a federal shutdown, rising living costs, stagnant wages, and cuts to SNAP benefits. Many people are struggling to survive, and businesses depend on community trust more than ever. I’ve known this Krispy Kreme for decades and visited that evening to support a local business—not because I had to, but because I wanted to. Instead, I witnessed employees standing idle and disengaged while no fresh doughnuts—the very product that built this brand—were being made. The sense of hospitality and pride that once defined this location was missing entirely. The lack of acknowledgment and professionalism reflects poorly not only on this store but on Krispy Kreme’s reputation in Richmond. My concern isn’t just about my own experience but about a pattern of complacency that hurts both customers and good employees who depend on this company for work. I’m sharing this publicly so there is a record of what occurred. I ask that Krispy Kreme investigate this incident and ensure that every patron—regardless of appearance or background—is treated with basic hospitality, attentiveness, and respect. I hope this feedback will lead to visible, lasting change in culture and service quality at this location. In difficult times like these, kindness and professionalism are essential. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call and helps restore the level of service and pride that Richmond’s community has always associated with Krispy Kreme. Respectfully, Benjamin Miles
