I’ve moved within the last 6 months and this is the closest food lion to my house. I’ve had plenty of moments I can speak on but I will speak on the one I just experienced as of 10-15 minutes ago. Me and my mother entered food lion to get some last minute items for our house. We only had 4 items and the gentlemen on line 1 was finishing up his transaction so we decided to hop on that line to make things quicker. However as the gentleman who was infront of us was finishing up, the older employee who was at said register fully ignored our presence then walked away from us while we’re still in lane 1 at the register. We stood there in shock thinking maybe he needed to grab something quickly and then return. But no there we stood being completely ignored. Thankfully the teller on lane 2 who was an older black women said “ I can just take you ladies over here” and guess what a caucasian female approached lane 1 and was helped automatically …. That shouldn’t have had to happen and it is disgusting that everytime I come into food lion whether the issue is not being greeted when in line, not being spoken to while in line, or today when we were completely ignored. They must do better. Let this have happened on the east end in a predominantly black neighborhood w/ a caucasian customer, the biggest issue would’ve been labeled that they’re rude with no respect for their customers. Let’s do better as a whole.
