My family usually loves the Great American Restaurants. We went for my husband's birthday and ordered our drinks. My youngest daughter got a Shirley Temple and when it arrived, there was a shard of glass in the drink. Luckily she saw the glass and alerted us and we told our server. He acted like it was not a big deal. We were not comped anything including the drink that could have caused serious injury or death. The other thing was that we told them when we made the reservation and when we were seated that it was my husband's birthday and they did not bring a dessert. At every other location we have received a free dessert for a birthday celebration. We will not return to Sweetwater.

This place was fantastic! The food was good. The service was out of this world, and the atmosphere was absolutely amazing! My wife is a very big steak person, so she’s particular about the steak that she eats, and who prepares it, and they prepared it exactly to her liking, despite how specific she can be lol. We had Nadia and you most likely couldn’t get any better. In terms of service; She was very attentive, respectful, and quick, along with the food delivery, which was on par with Nadia’s speed. We have frequented the great American restaurants as they are some of our favorites and I would say this spot in particular should be your go to

Wonderful restaurant and great place to come to celebrate, from birthdays to Christmas to Valentine’s, they always do it right. The steak is cooked perfectly and the menu has a wide range of flavors. Special shoutout to our server, Nadia. She really took our experience to the next level. She was attentive without being overly present at our table. She offered the special dessert, kept our drinks filled, put in our order promptly, and continued taking care of us even after our check was paid. She made us feel like we were already friends.

I’ve been eating at this location since the late 2000s and this experience will be my last at Sweetwater or any other Great American restaurant. My partner and I went for a valentines dinner and we had a bit of a wait before we were sat, which is completely understandable given the date and time. After the long wait, my girl and I were ready for a drink and emphatically said yes to Tyler, the server’s drink and Ozzie offering. After 6-7 min. Tyler returns and says that we need to show our ID before we can be served, but the way he went about it struck me as odd and kind of snarky or snobby. I was a server and bartender for 10+ years and I wouldn’t have carded us since we are both in our 40s and showing our age with wrinkled foreheads and some grey hair to match. My partner didn’t have her ID since she just finished work as a nurse and left her ID in her work bag and Tyler refused us service and walked off. I asked the (assistant?) manager Allie if they carded every old timer that comes in and she stated in a patronizing manner that they do indeed card everyone that comes in asking for a drink. She didn’t seem to listen to anything I said which further made us feel unwelcome. I stated that I no longer wanted Tyler as my server and would like a replacement. The similarly aged couple at table next to us heard the conversation and stated that they weren’t carded for their drinks at all. They left and the next table that sat down ordered drinks as well and were not carded either. The manager Ben came by to talk to us and he was very welcoming and as we told him of our experience we felt listened to and treated with respect. He offered us an appetizer and told us he’d get us another server. We were then greeted by Jaden, our replacement server and she was very sweet and warm and made the rest of our evening very pleasant even with our former server pacing back and forth through the section giving us strange looks and smirks. We left a decent tip for our server and called it a night. I don’t know why Tyler decided to single us out for a credential check (maybe it was because we are an interracial couple), but I was just trying to show my girl a nice Valentine’s Day time in an establishment that I have always been fond of. However, the earlier encounters with Tyler and Allie put a damper on the evening and made us feel unwelcome and, as a 20+ year customer, I’ve never been treated like that. Therefore, I can’t recommend this place any longer and will not spend my hard earned money in any Great American establishment ever again. Big thank you to Jaden and Ben for their professionalism and help at rectifying the situation.
