I visited on Monday, Dec 1 for the first time in this location. I usually enjoy Panera Bread and have visited numerous times in the prior Colonial Heights location. I was somewhat disappointed due to the lack of cleanliness in the restaurant. Crumbs and trash on the floor and tabletops and there weren’t many customers during this time (around 2 or 3pm). Napkin holders were empty. Bathrooms had pieces of paper and trash around and didn’t appear too clean. Some drink machines were low on beverages. The food was good, however the soup was lukewarm. The salad was very good. Maybe this was a one-off day or there weren't enough staff. When the server called our name she sounded like an angry mom screaming for her kid (my perception maybe, but didn’t sound friendly). This is not the standard I usually see and expect from Panera in various locations I’ve visited. I may visit again. But if the environment remains similar I will not be going back to this location.

Every now and again, I am pleasantly surprised by a good experience, but in general, this location is often out of critical ingredients like romaine lettuce. The amount of dressing in their ramikens is laughable. Even 4 of them is not enough for a full salad. Regularly, I get a message that they are "behind" in preparing my order (which I've never encountered at any other Panera), with no update on when the order will be ready. For reference, I am writing this review while in line at the drive through. I have been in line for 21 minutes. It's OK, as once again, I got a message that they are behind, so I have no clue when my order will be ready. I will say that the workers have always been lovely and obviously have no role in ordering, portions, etc. Still, if possible, I recommend just driving to the location in Chester to avoid these issues.

Panerai Bread is not the place it used to be several years ago. It used to be you got your money's worth of food, now it's like their food sizes are smaller and the price got higher. I came to this new location hoping it ŵould be different, boy was I wrong. First I ordered their chicken cranberry sandwich, but I customized it to only have romaine lettuce arugula. I get the sandwich and they slapped iceberg lettuce in it. Either the staff think they're funny or they don't know the difference between iceberg and romaine. They didn't give me the receipt, so that was scrapped. The atmosphere felt uncomfortable because it seemed like they wanted me to hurry and leave even though their hours show they're open until 9pm. Probably not going to be doing Panera anytime soon.

I had one of the worst meals I’ve ever eaten at a Panera Bread. I ordered the avocado chipotle chicken scrambled egg sandwich, and it was prepared very poorly. The chicken was still frozen, the bread was stale, and they didn’t even include the avocado. When I reported the issue, they were unable to remake the sandwich. Very disappointing experience.

Bad food: ordered a yogurt with fruit and received a pre-prepared yogurt with fruit that had turned bad and became watery. Order two steel cut oatmeals that were prepared and served wildly differently. One had a heap of sugar on top that would have sent me into diabetic shock had I not turned over the oatmeal first and dumped it out. Fortunately the oatmeal was so old and congealed that it stayed in place as I tipped the container to empty the sugar. All workers seemed disengaged. Panera as a franchise has went way down with respect to quality. I keep forgetting and re-remembering this every time I'm out of town and go to one. Very spotty from location to location.
