Pizza hut no longer delivers food themselves. They have hired doordash to do it for them. Because of this, food is never on time, is cold, and never made a priority. I placed my order at 4:56, was given a delivery time of 5:36 by Pizza hut, and it is now 5:52, the dasher has not moved from his spot on the map, and the delivery time has updated twice- once from 5:46-5:51, and again to 5:53-5:56. The web page said the dasher had "a few stops to make" indicating my order was not prioritized at all. It was a cash order, and when I asked pizza hut support how that worked with dashers taking the cash, they did not even know the answer or how to explain it to me.
Pizza hut thinks by using a third party they will get more revenue and more business, but with how unprofessional dashers are, they are actually hurting their business. Dashers can take on multiple deliveries at once, which is what happened to me tonight. My driver picked my food up around 5, and it took him over an hour to get it to me because he was making other deliveries first, probably not pizza hut related.
If Pizza hut had one of their own employees deliver, I'd have my food in a timely manner and it would be hot and I'd be more than happy to tip.
It's 6:09 PM, and I just received my food, and it's cold and not even right. I ordered a medium pizza in the tavern square style, which according to their website is "Crispy, square-cut, and topped with cheesy garlic Hut Dust seasoning". It's a circle, and its cold. I will have to reheat it. I did not order cheesey bread, but it looks like I got a box of it anyway. They did not have root beer so they decided to replace it with dr pepper without asking me.
Pretty sad that everyone thinks doordash will help them. They just lost a customer though. Not that they care.
