  I went into Food Lion to pick up groceries and headed to the checkout. While I was there, some yogurt had spilled, and an employee—who appeared to be a manager—came over to clean it up. As I was in the middle of checking out, he abruptly stepped in front of me and told me to “move,” which came across as very rude and unprofessional. I understand accidents happen, but the way I was spoken to and treated was unacceptable, especially by someone in a management position. This experience left me very disappointed, and because of it, I do not plan to return to this Food Lion location.

  Fresh vegetables at pretty reasonable prices. They are making efforts to lower prices on eggs, meats and some household products. Always friendly helpful staff across all stores in Hampton Roads...

  I ordered a cake online from Kroger for pickup four days in advance, only to be told upon arrival that they “haven’t done cakes in a long time”—yet their system still allows customers to place cake orders. That alone is unacceptable. What made the experience far worse was the rude, dismissive, and completely unapologetic attitude of the employees. There was zero attempt to help, no ownership of the mistake, and not even basic courtesy. Thankfully, Food Lion in Carrollton, VA stepped up in a big way. Despite typically requiring 48 hours’ notice, they had no problem making a rush custom cake same day last minute. The contrast in customer service couldn’t be more clear! Huge props to Food Lion and their stellar employees for actually caring about their customers. Miss Keosha and Kiteda were beyond helpful and truly saved the day! Major shout-out to these ladies and the bakery staff for going above and beyond to assist!

  Love FOOD LION...always have the deals I am looking for and staff is kind! The cashier pointed out the giving boxes and took pride in the display she made. I thought it was pretty awesome to see her excitement to help. Great job 👏
