  Food and service was good, but the expectation of tipping is absurd. When using a credit card it starts at 22%. Tipping should start at 15% and incrementally go up from there based on the quality of the service. No server should be entitled to a 22% tip. It should be earned.

  The atmosphere in the restaurant was so noisy that I decided to take my pizza to go rather than dine in. As soon as the pizza came out of the kitchen in a take out box and was paid for I drove 5 minutes home with it. Once there I immediately pulled a slice out and discovered that the crust was so soggy it was disintegrating in the box. I called the restaurant to report the issue & was told that a manager would call the next morning to discuss a refund. The manager didn't call the next day so I called the restaurant back that day, explained the issue and left my contact info again. I was again told that a manager would contact me to discuss a refund when one came in later that afternoon. I didn't receive the second promised call back from a manager either. I called a third time to try to speak to the manager & was told that no manager was in the restaurant and the staff didn't expect them to be in for the rest of the night. After giving the restaurant several opportunities to make the situation right only to be given empty promises I won't make the mistake of visiting the Cellar Restaurant anymore. I'm sure that any of the other locally owned pizza places in town will appreciate my business.

  If you’re a Canadian/foreign student or visitor without a physical passport in hand, I’ll save you a very bad experience - DON’T COME!! The server at the basement bar does not take any form of ID that is not from the US and is beyond discriminatory to anyone who carries a foreign ID. My Ontario ID got dismissed even after offering additional sets of ID and a photocopy of my passport. The bar was empty, so there was no reason for her behavior or the aggression she showed after asking my friends and me to leave.

  I would give it 0 stars, the service is rude and dismissing. We literally just wanted a beer, but honestly, worst service I’ve ever had — do not come here!!! The server at the basement bar sucks and was beyond discriminatory to my friend who had a valid piece of ID, and also the bar was EMTPY no people in there so my guess would be the bartender just wanted to keep it that way and not work.
