I came by for a quick drink while I waited for my ride. I was really warmly greeted and sat at the bar. I canceled my ride after I fell in love with the vibe. The initial classic cocktail I ordered was perfect so I figured I'd try a signature cocktail with some small bites. I tried two trendy dishes I had seen on social media and was so happy it was as delicious as it was beautiful. Good vibes, good drinks, delicious food. See you soon Himalayan Wild Yak!

Such a hidden gem, they gave a little starter which surprised me. It was a puffy rice with pickled radishes and it was vaguely sweet? But crispy and good. Got the Yak Korma, brussels, chatpatey, garlic naan, and Buffalo Momos. All were so good
Food was really delicious and authentic, really enjoyed the variety of flavors and textures, and a hit with the kids too. The cultural drinks were delightful as well. We got the wild boar, pork belly, braised yak, butter chicken, naan and brussel sprouts. Naan is a bit different as this is not an indian restaurant. We will make a trip back for sure.

Himalayan Wild Yak is one of those rare spots that quietly raises the bar for what international cuisine can be in Arlington. We ordered the Vegetarian Manchurian, Duck Fried Rice, and Braised Lamb, and each dish had its own distinct personality—bold, balanced, and never heavy or greasy. The flavors lingered in the best way, with just the right layer of Nepali spices that left me with a genuinely happy food buzz. Thoughtful, comforting, and exciting all at once—this is a place I’d recommend without hesitation. Five stars.
I normally don’t write reviews, but the way the staff treated us was not good, and I felt the need to share my dissatisfaction. The food was okay, but unfortunately the service was awful, and that completely ruined the experience.
I called ahead to ask if they were open, and the lady who answered the phone was rude. She picked up with a blunt “hello,” with no greeting or acknowledgment like “Thank you for calling”—basic common sense in the service industry.
Once at the restaurant, things didn’t improve. I decided to move tables and tried to hand the menu to the waiter. He looked at me as if I was asking for a huge favor. There was no politeness, no courtesy, and no professionalism. After the food was served, no one checked in to see if the food was okay or if we needed anything. Zero engagement.
I’ve been to their Ashburn location, where both the food and service are excellent, so I know this isn’t a brand issue—it’s a management and staff training issue at this location.
Food can be good, but when you’re treated poorly, even good food tastes bad. I will not return to this location until management steps up and properly trains their staff on how to operate in a service business.
Very Very disappointing experience
