    Had everything we needed but the entire store smelt faintly of spoiled milk. This must be a high crime area because the self check out is set to use the audio queue to tell you to loudly place your item in the bagging area and will call for an associate if you scan a second item before placing the first on the scale. The scanners were also dirty leading to scanning issues where a sound would register but we would place an item on the scale immediately prompting the machine to lock up and require an associate to have to fix.

    Stopped into the Bakery for a Custom Cake. Everyone was professional and very helpful. Miriam asked great questions which made the cake perfect with the best frosting ever. We had the perfect size for what we needed. I would highly recommend Miriam and her team at this Giant Bakery.

    If you’re closing the Deli early, please update your time. If it closes at 9pm, I expect to still get my sandwich meat sliced at 8:30pm and not told by Unique that they can’t do it because they have to be out by 9pm. That is not my problem. If those are not the true hours, please update the sign or train the employees to know when they truly stop taking food orders. Also per food code, employees handling food should have their hair tied back and not hanging as to not contaminate food and to prevent from being caught in machinery. That is a violation. Safety first.

    What a terrible experience the first time I ever did business with this Giant and it will be the last. We ordered pick up from this store. All was going normal, I marked in the app that I was on my way ~10 minutes away. I used the app to notify the store when I arrived and parked in the pick up lane, that was somewhat marked. The app had my cars information as a black SUV. The app said also to call the store when I arrived. I called the number provided and nobody answered. Yet the same number was answered promptly when it came to my missing items and substitutes, (how can you be missing ground turkey and not have any alternatives ti substitute? Even ground beef would’ve worked I said, yet they still left it out, now we have to find what to cook with for half of this week). That’s not even the worst of it, after not getting an answer from the phone line I was asked to call, we sat and waited in the pick up line for 10 minutes. Hearing nothing from the store, it got to a point where we were the only car in the pickup line for several minutes. Then it got to the point where we decided to leave our car and go into the store and ask about our order, completely eliminating the purpose of pick up. We were met with an incredibly rude man at the customer service desk that ignored us and then would yell at us “we don’t know what car is yours!” He kept saying, and I responded it is the black suv like is conveniently noted in the app. He then would shout “we don’t know where you parked!” I responded “we parked in the pickup lane as the app suggested, we notified you when we were on our way, when we arrived, and even called as the app asked.” He said “we aren’t using the regular pick up spots because of snow removal,” I told him there is no snow in the pickup lane. Worth noting throughout all of this we heard the intercom call for our order 3-4 times over the course of 15 minutes, yet nobody came or let us know our groceries were coming soon. I left the store to wait in the car a bit more and said what a terrible service this is. 5 or so minutes after that, when we were literally about to walk inside and cancel our order for a refund, a worked slowly walked out of the store with a cart full of our groceries. They slowly approached our car and asked the name of the order (again, the app had our order as a black suv, not only were we the only black suv but the only car in the pick up lane!). We grabbed all of the bags out of the cart and put them in our car with basically no help from the worker. They also charge 10 cents per bag which normally would be fine but they literally out 1-3 items in each bag. We consolidated 6 bags to 3 bags easily. We miss the harris teeter on glebe at national landing and have been in search of a new grocery store since HT closed. Suffice to say we will never go to that giant again

    I like shopping there because most time everything is stocked up and so I always find what I'm looking for. The staff is friendly and helpful, epecially when I'm looking for specific items. They would walk me to the aisle and point out at the item. I enjoy that. On the slight negative, compared to other chain grocery shops, Giant prices coukd be a bit more competitive. Lastly, I love their bakery section! Sweet tooth, but they have good muffins, bagels and pastries that I enjoy with my coffee regularly. Clean and neatly organized aisles.
