Japomen is a hidden gym located in Alexandria, my hubby and I bought many onigiri, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

They have a good variety on the menu, but the food was lack luster at best. I had high hopes because of how great the menu and the reviews were, but everything we ordered fell short. The chicken teriyaki was overcooked, the pork belly was so tough you couldn't eat it, the onigiri was wrapped impossible to open, and we didn't even get our sushi rolls. We were very disappointed.

Fantastic food - ramen was the best I’ve had. Fantastic and friendly service as well. Prices were fair and I liked the atmosphere as well. Highly recommend and will be returning!

From food to service, it's always a pleasant experience when I dine in with family, friends, and solo. All the items that I've tried so far are delicious- well balanced and flavorful! My husband loves all the ramen selection. My favorite is the creamy crab wonton and white dragon sushi. I really also appreciate that the chef takes the time to make regular spicy mayo when I request it. The customer service is always exceptional. It's very rare especially this day and age. The chef and staff (especially Milton) always takes the time to chat, check on the guests, and is very attentive. We always leave happy and full after dining at Japomen Alexandria.

Our first time and we really enjoyed it. I had a bento box and my dining companion had tonkutsu. They were large portions. We also had appetizers of the crab wontons and sushi. All were good but beware the main dishes had a more contemporary take. It was not the look of the usual breaded tonkutsu. We also loved the atmosphere. Small and intimate. We sat where we could watch K pop music videos. Finally our server was great. Just the right balance of taking care of us without obnoxious.
