  Cup cakes are really good and if you just want to try any cake by the slice there is plenty to choose from.

  Amazing customer service, delicious pastries, and great breakfast options. I come here often for the elegant, calming atmosphere. I thinks it’s a the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a treat!

  UPDATE: I have received a telephone call from the store manager letting me know that they checked with the bakery and, yes, I am correct, that the croissants are not up to their usual standard and asking me to stop by the store for a refund. I’ve been a customer of Alexandria Pastry Shop for at least 20 years. My “go-to” order is ham and cheese croissants, which have always been absolutely delicious. I treated myself by purchasing 2 the Saturday before Christmas – I also purchased 2 chocolate croissants. When I cut into the ham and cheese croissants I was surprised to see mostly bread, one slice of ham and no cheese (or at least not enough to notice). The chocolate croissants contained the equivalent of 2 chocolate chips. I called the shop and left a message explaining the reason for my call and asking for a return call. I never heard back. On Tuesday, December 30, I made a special trip to the store and asked to speak with the manager. I was told there was no manager there but when I explained the reason for my visit was told the owner was there. She was too busy to speak with me and asked me to leave my name and phone number. I pushed back because I had already left a message and didn’t have the confidence that I would get a return call. She still refused to come out to speak with me. I left my number and departed with 2 free ham and cheese croissants, which are just like the ones I bought 2 weeks ago – one slice of ham and no discernible cheese. I am still waiting for a phone call from the shop in response to my phone call and from the manager in response to my visit. As a long time customer, I am surprised at the poor quality of their product and their poor customer service. Epic fail!

  Got a medium vanilla buttercream cake out of the display case after having a custom cake order not be fulfilled due to a misunderstanding. Cake tastes like wax. Do not recommend. Stick to Walmart they will get your order right and it will actually taste like cake for less than half the price.

  At 5:30 I walked in to hear the f word blasting on the music selection. The explicit version of messy by Lola young did not seem appropriate for this family establishment. Then after searching for an employee they informed me that they were closed. I asked why since I had previously called and was told 6pm and this was 30 minutes before that. The employees were rude and dismissive. Not the experience I expected from a place I frequent so often.
