  Good addition to Old Town. Nice design, friendly staff, and decent food. The downside was the service. Some of the food arrived lukewarm, two dishes we ordered were forgotten, and it was clear the waitress never put them in. We waited over 30 minutes for our sushi and had to ask for an ETA. When the food finally arrived lukewarm, it became obvious it had been sitting before being picked up. Overall, they really need to improve wait times and order accuracy, or it will hurt them in the long run.

  Food was amazing very very fresh. Drinks were on point right amount of alcohol, mock tails were also delicious my wife does not drink. Vibe was energetic but appropriate for conversation. Staff was amazing everybody worked as a team food came out super quick…… this restaurant is within the AMEX Resy partnership that gives you an annual credits for dining out… So great find!!!

  We were very late for our Friday night reservation (rain) and the host was very gracious and found us a table. The staff is attentive and the food is amazing! Favorites for us were Fried Tofu, Red Dragon Roll, Wagyu Fried Rice (just order it) and delicious Negiri. And there's a beautiful 3D mural on the wall handmade by the mother of the contractor who did the space. Great night, run don't walk!

  I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant but was unfortunately disappointed by the quality of food, mostly the wagyu fried rice. The rice itself is tasteless but what’s even more disappointing is the lack of protein in the food. What they advertise on the menu vs what they actually give you is very misleading. I basically paid $30 for bland rice which should not be the case. The other items we ordered were nothing to write home about. To spend nearly $70 on takeout for two and not be able to enjoy the food is disappointing. Pictured below is the image of the food on their site vs what I actually received. If you want good food in the area, I recommend Asia Bistro on King St. I usually order from them but they were closed so I decided to give this place a try. Won’t make that mistake again.

  Akeno Sushi in Old Town completely exceeded our expectations. You can really taste how much care and heart goes into the food. The ribeye with chimichurri over cauliflower was unbelievable—so tender it melted in our mouths. The sushi, curry, and appetizers were all packed with flavor and looked just as good as they tasted. The staff was super friendly, the service was fast, and everything came out perfectly timed. Our kids loved the wagyu fried rice, and the tempura was light, crispy, and cooked just right. The chef is insanely talented. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend giving this place a try!
