Recently, I had the unfortunate experience of this location because it happened to be the nearest to me. I ordered ahead on the McDonald’s app and chose drive-thru (this was the only option available for me to choose) and, when I pulled up to the drive-thru screen to tell them my code, no one answered on the speaker. The speaker screen wasn’t even on and I waited a few minutes for anyone to notice I was there, but no one ever came. So, I decided to just park and go inside the lobby, figuring maybe the drive-thru was closed or something as it was nighttime. When I went up to the employee at the counter, I told her about my order placed ahead and she said “This isn’t the drive-thru” which, obviously, I knew that, so I told her I had just been in the drive-thru and no one ever came to take my order number so, rather than collect me my order, she proceeded to tell me to go back to the drive-thru and she would give it to me. However, when I started to walk out to my car, she told me to go out the other exit and she would help me at the window. Confused, I tried to clarify that my car wasn’t out that direction and she then told me “No, don’t drive, just go to the window out this way”. Again, this was very confusing to me so I asked and she clarified that she wanted me to WALK up to the drive-thru window outside so she could hand me my order??? I asked again, “You want me to go outside and walk up to your window through the drive-thru lane?” and she laughed at me and said “Yes, can’t you walk?”. So, I did what she said, completely baffled, and went out the door she pointed out to me and tried to walk over to the window, only to find a small line of cars now waiting in the drive-thru lane, one of which was at the window I was apparently meant to walk up to. This was not a helpful, or even practical solution, to me so I just decided to cancel my order and go somewhere else. I cannot understand why on earth I would ever be asked to walk through a drive thru lane that was filled with cars. How that can be safe, I can’t imagine, and I am appalled that it was even suggested to me as an option. I also cannot understand why the drive-thru employee was not there at the drive-thru for several minutes when I arrived, nor why they suddenly came back after I went inside and started working the lane again. Additionally, why I couldn’t have just been given my order (that I already paid for) when I came inside- despite that fact that, yes, I was not actually in the drive-thru, does not make any sense to me whatsoever. This was overall not a pleasant experience or one I will ever attempt to repeat by returning to this McDonalds location. I never received my food and was not treated with respect after being told to walk through a drive-thru lane, laughed at, and treated like I was stupid for being confused on all of these things.
