Over the last few years, airport food has clearly made an effort to step up its game, aiming for better quality and consistency. On this visit, the bright spot was Lucas. He provided excellent service and truly stood out in a fast paced airport environment. He was friendly, attentive, and efficient, with a calm, professional demeanor that made the interaction pleasant and easy. Lucas clearly understands good customer service, and his attitude reflected well on the brand.
Unfortunately, the food itself fell short. I ordered a JJBLT with onions, and the execution did not match expectations. As shown in the photos, there was very little lettuce and tomato, and the onions were never added at all. The bacon did make an appearance, but it could not carry the sandwich on its own. The bread was also disappointing. It lacked the soft, airy, chewy texture that I typically expect from Jimmy John’s, coming across denser and less fresh than usual.
Everyone knows airport pricing comes at a premium, often at least thirty percent higher, and in this case that higher price delivered a substandard product. While I appreciate Lucas and his excellent service, when I pass through again, I will likely choose a different restaurant for my airport bite.
