I had the best experience at Handosake Sushi! The fish was soft, buttery and utterly perfect. The kitchen serves up sushi classics with thoughtful touches and if you’re feeling more adventurous the off-road pairings are exciting and tasty. Valentina was my server and she was attentive well-informed. Also, don’t skip on the dessert - the matcha crème brûlée is ridiculously good!!

Fantastic experience at Hando! Our server Corey and sushi chef Brendan were both incredibly nice and attentive. Will definitely be back. We came in around 4:30pm and it wasn’t too crowded, but it definitely gets more crowded in the evening.

High quality sushi and delicious food, but the some issues need to be fixed to bring this from good to excellent. The food was mostly great — The shishito peppers were possibly the best I’ve ever had and a “must” order! Also, I’d recommend the crispy rice with tuna and the wonton tacos. The kill bill and spider monkey rolls were both excellent, but the Godzilla roll was a let down. The areas this place could really improve on are its ambiance, noise levels, and service. They really need an entrance or door curtain to block outside air during winter — freezing air was constantly blowing into the dining area throughout the entire food service. Everyone was complaining. We reserved table seating, but were sat at the bar, and the bar stools are the least comfortable I’ve ever sat on. They also wobble constantly and I tried switching my own stool twice with no luck. The music levels were too loud to hold a conversation with our group, or hear the waiter. While our waiter was friendly enough and explained the items well (when we could hear him), he forgot multiple items that we’d ordered even after reminding him. We also frequently had to ask to have water refilled, and one person from our party was missing their place setting dish for the wasabi, ginger and soy sauce. We asked for this from our waiter twice and ended up never receiving it. This restaurant has a lot of potential, but there’s so much competition for good sushi in SLC, and having this many issues at this price point really is inexcusable.

Small portions and expensive. I have no problem spending money on sushi when its good. It was decent at best. We didn't even get drinks and spent $200. The last roll I couldn't even eat, took one bite and wanted to puke. I wanted to like this place. I really did. I've never left sushi at my table after paying. But no one at our table wanted to finish the sushi. Loved our waitress though she was awesome!!

I ordered take out since I live nearby. When I arrived, the front desk employee told me my order wasn’t ready and went to check. I noticed a packed order sitting at the bar, but since she said mine wasn’t ready, I assumed it belonged to someone else. After waiting a bit, another employee brought that same order to the front and looked at me, asking, “DoorDash?” She asked for my name, but when I told her, she repeated it incorrectly. I corrected her, and she walked away saying something like, “Glemmy, whatever.” She then checked the same order I had seen earlier and handed it to me. I mentioned that the front desk employee had told me my order wasn’t ready, and she simply said, “OK,” and walked away. The interaction felt dismissive and rude. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. The customer service was unprofessional, and I was not impressed with the hand rolls either.
