I was so excited to try this restaurant. It was my first nice dining experience in SLC. To begin, no enforcement of a dress code really affects the experience. Several guys were wearing ballcaps, even some were wearing them backwards to match their hoodies and sweatpants. There was some event in the back room that seemed to include young boys wrestling. No one even shut the door to the room, so we had to listen to the random yell from that room. Neither steak was prepared up to our satisfaction. One was under-seasoned and the other was overcooked and dried out. I was so bitterly disappointed. Had wanted this to be a nice evening out, but as it turns out, Fleming's was the same experience as paying a lot to go to The Sizzler.

Been going to Flamming's for 20+ years and can't go back now. They prepare virtually every steak with soybean oil but don't show soy as an allergen on their dedicated allergy information (you have to dig through a separate ADA allergen document to find their disclaimer saying soybean oil isn't included in their soy allergy document, and that most steaks have soybean oil). Sloppy at best, deceptive at worst. Either way I'm very sick now and don't recommend this as a safe option with anyone that reacts to soy.

Food great, service exceptional. My only complaint is the smell of the restaurant. It smells like dirty old carpet and a couch that hasn’t been cleaned in years. I think it’s the floor carpet but it made me nauseous. I recommend deep cleaning the carpet or just pulling it up. Although the food was good I had to force myself to eat because of the overwhelming smell.

One out two of the petite filets we ordered were well cooked. The other was fibrous and overseared on one side. The fleming potatoes were delicious except for the slightly over baked cheese topping. Scrumptious bread. The Gateway is a ghost complex but Fleming's still gets a good share of customers. Our steaks weren't as good as our last visit and the spinach and roasted lentils portions make them for looks for the most part. A bit pricey.
