About

Chicken Restaurant
Krispy Krunchy Chicken® (KKC), founded in Louisiana in 1989, is a quick-serve solution for convenience stores, truck stops, universities, casinos, and big box retailers across the U.S.  Every piece of our chicken and tenders is marinaded in a proprietary mix of mild but oh-so-flavorful spices, then double hand-breaded and fried to golden perfection. We serve it with the best sides around and most every order comes with a little bit of crowning glory – a freshly baked biscuit, generously drizzled with pure honey goodness.

Gotten this a few times there was one time when the chicken didn’t taste how it was made but I ordered this at 2:56 PM not sure if that will help with someone to pinpoint when they cook their chicken. But I usually get the crunchy box with 3 piece and the chicken taste so good, I’m not from the south but if this is what south chicken taste like then I’m glad the rice and beans is my go to side and taste good for a side the biscuit is the best thing flaky+sweet.

The food is not good. Not even the sauce is good. The food taste likes chemicals. The mashed potatoes were so bad, I couldn’t even finish my bites. Nothing seems fresh (sauces) It’s all packets. Save your money and go elsewhere. I regret sending money there. People say it’s gas station chicken. I’ve had better gas station chicken. I was also will never return. I thought the chicken tenders would be decent, but I was not able to finish them. I waisted $20.00 and I’m still hungry and I was not able to eat much.

Whoa. Very not good. Chicken like cardboard, mashed potatoes like generic instant powder, jambalaya was just rice with a bottle of spice spilled in it, no trace of the onion, celery, chicken or sausage that was advertised. One redeeming factor: their bottled Pepsi is definitely Pepsi.

First, let's set expectations. This isn't one of those boutique chicken sandwich/tenders places that have seemed to become popular over the past few years. This is gas station chicken, with some marketing veneer layered on top. I assume the chicken tenders would have been better if I'd gone during peak lunch or dinner hours, but I got here around 1:30pm. The chicken is pre-cooked, and sitting under heat lamps. Judging by the temperature, the chicken I got must have been under the heat lamp for at least 30 minutes, probably longer. Flavor was ok. They use some Cajun seasoning, but it's not too spicy. The chicken was fairly well cooked, but slightly on the dry side. Again, the dryness may have been due to it sitting under a heat lamp for a while. I got the mashed potatoes as a side. They have the sides all pre-packaged and positioned for you to pick out self-serve style while they get the chicken bagged for you. Again, flavor was ok, above average for gas station food, but well below what you might expect at a normal restaurant. I'm not sure if it's typical, but mine consisted of about equal parts potatoes and gravy. I think the potatoes were probably "instant" type. They were very similar to what you'd get at KFC. Service was fast, since the food was all pre-cooked. There was no line when I arrived. I ordered and was on my way in about 1 minute. The charge on my credit card was from "Chevron", rather than from "Krispy Krunchy Chicken". It'll probably code as a gas station, not a restaurant. Given what it is, that's not surprising, but reinforces that this is just a marketing/branding veneer. I think this place is fairly new, and at the time of my review, there are two other reviews, both 5 stars. I'm surprised by the 5 star reviews, but could probably understand people giving 4 stars if they came when the chicken was freshly cooked. With my personal experience here at an off-peak time, I can't give more than 3 stars. If I'm being honest, the other 5 star reviews and the pretty pictures in the marketing probably influenced me to err on rating this higher than I normally would. I may have given 2 stars if not for wanting to give it the benefit of the doubt that I just came at a bad time.
