  6:30 Sunday night. Plenty of seating. But terrible service. Finally left when no waitress came.

  My husband and I came here for a quick lunch after traveling for the day. They weren’t busy and we were seated quickly. Our server came soon after and was extremely sweet. She got us our drinks and chips, salsa, and queso blanco cheese. The chips and salsa were amazing. The salsa was flavorful and spicy. The cheese tasted like the type of cheese out of a store bought jar. I didn’t enjoy it but my husband did! My husband ordered the Baja tacos with cod and a side of corn and refried beans. I ordered the beef tamales with rice and beans. The plating looked good, the food looked great. -The flour tortillas for the tacos didn’t taste right. There was very little seasoning. The fish was dry and over fried. The sauce tasted good and had good flavor. -The corn had an odd rubbery texture. It was heavily seasoned. But the corn itself almost tasted rotten or made multiple days prior and reheated. -The tamales tasted bland other than the red sauce over them. -The refried beans were awful. It tasted more like canned beans heated up with a tad bit of cheese sprinkled over the top. Some of the beans were a bit firm. -The rice reminded me of the microwaveable bag rice you can get at Walmart. Neither of us finished our food. He took a bit of his taco and a bit of corn. I ate half a tamale, a bite of beans, and a bite of rice. Ultimately, we were unsatisfied. My husband explained that he didn’t feel comfortable paying for the food. He was eventually talked into paying for my portion of the meal since I ate some of it. He left a tip for the server and paid for my meal. The staff was nice and understanding. He was told that this happens often. I wouldn’t come back unless there were some serious changes to the food.

  We traveled out of the National parks today, and decided to take dinner in Cody. We have a great Zapatas in Colorado, and thought the food would be similar. We had a very nice server, but the food was awful! This was the worst Mexican food I have ever had hands down. The enchiladas were topped with a sauce that can only be described as flavorless cream gravy. All the food came out luke-warm and looked like it had been sitting a while. The House Marg had no salt on the rim and was awful in its own right. I felt bad for the waitstaff, but wow, this place needs a full overhaul!

  The food was good, but the experience was ruined by the staff (Saturday night) which was inattentive and entitled in a way that is toxic to any establishment. The owner/manager should take notice.

  Nice spot for Mexican food in the center of downtown Cody. Friendly service. Great chips with a fresh, spicy salsa. The tacos were large and tasty (although the ground beef was a little pedestrian for a Mexican dish, IMO.) The enchiladas were tasty. And the side of beans was very good. Nice outdoor patio for dining.
