- SWsabo west1 day ago5.0I came to Outback in Cheyenne, Wyoming for a steak. I left with a new best friend and a slightly concerning emotional attachment to a woman named Mariah (that's M-A-R-I-A-H, and yes, I made her spell it for the review). First off, Mariah didn't just take my order, she read me like a menu. I asked for a recommendation and she locked eyes with me and said "Del Monico, ribeye, medium-rare." No hesitation. No "well, it depends." Just pure confidence. I've worked with sales reps for 15 years and I've never seen a close that smooth. I would've bought a second ribeye out of respect. Then came the sides. I asked for suggestions and she said, "You can't go wrong with the loaded baked potato." She was right. You can't go wrong. I went wrong zero times. It's rare to find someone in Wyoming who can guarantee that, and that includes the weather. My drink was never empty. Not once. I don't know how she did it. I'm fairly certain she has a sixth sense, or a tiny drink-level sensor implanted in her brain. I'd look down and boom, full glass. I started to feel like I was in a magic trick, and the magician was smiling the whole time, because she NEVER stopped smiling. In a world where everyone's stressed, Mariah showed up like sunshine in a vest. Bottom line: great steak, great sides, and service so good I almost tipped in cattle. Cheyenne, you've got a gem. Outback, give this woman a raise, a trophy, and possibly her own wing of the restaurant. Would be waited on again. 10/10. Mariah for mayor.

- DPDon PardueSep 20, 20261.0On Sunday, 9/20, my wife and I came in for what we expected would be an enjoyable meal. It was in the middle of the afternoon so naturally the place was quiet. We were seated immediately by a young man who, for whatever reason, seemed to be less than thrilled. He sat us in the bar section, within feet from the bar, and handed us menus. Over the course of the next 10-15 minutes, we were ignored. The host who seated us passed by several times; given our proximity to the bar, I am fairly certain the bartender saw us, and although we saw a waitress coming in and out of the kitchen and in and out from behind the bar, no one spoke to us, took our drink orders, or even acknowledged our presence after we were seated. We therefore gradually assumed that no one there really cared whether we were there or not so we quietly left our menus on the table and opted to go elsewhere for an enjoyable meal. I am always quite sensitive to staffing issues and am patient when I see waiters and waitresses who are working extra hard due to under staffing. I am uncertain if that was the case here, but a simple apology or acknowledgement would have gone a long way for us. Unfortunately that never happened. We are just passing through from out of state and therefore would not have been back even had the experience been exceptional. Unfortunately for our one and only visit at this location, the restaurant provided a poor lasting impression.
