It's still possible to be pleasantly surprised. Which is pleasantly surprising in itself. I'm on the road headed to in install, i'm picking up a kid's meal for my daughter who loves hello kitty, and from the very first interaction at the drive through the staff is so courteous and warm. When I get to the window to pay, the cashier asks me if I want my receipt, which is like one of a handful of times this is actually asked without me having to ask. I'm my own boss and my accountant likes photos of receipts, so this was amazing. The gentleman at the window, who handed me my drinks and meals, was courteous as well, smiling and wishing me a good night. I ate my meal in the parking lot, because I still have another 8 hours to drive, and I have to say that it was really well made. Everything that was supposed to be cold, like the lettuce and tomato and pickles, were appropriately cold, and the meat was a perfect degree of hotness and had a very well balanced flavor.
I got a whopper, and there was a small cheeseburger in the kids' meal. The fries we're soft and crispy and not too salty.
I'm really not a fan of twisty turny highways, but interacting with the staff of this McDonald's makes me think that West Virginia stands a pretty good chance, in this world of tomorrow.
Whoever is training the staff here is doing a great job. Whoever is hiring, the staff here is making very good decisions. This location was also very clean...
I was trying to place an order that was very simple. A diet Dr Pepper, but make it dirty with a butter biscuit. The woman in charge of taking orders at the drive-through obviously had better things to do Judging by her huffing and puffing and her rude comment of “give me a minute” while I was trying to place this simple order. Running a business requires hiring people that actually want to do the job as well as people who provide good customer service.
Clearly, this McDonald’s is lacking in those type of people.

Items missing from order & sweet tea was awful. Get new trainees learning but the regulars should monitor their work! Be better! Fast food shouldnt take 15+ after the typical lunchtime. Us travelers are accustomed to soo much better quality & customer service was lacking this day...

Oh I wish I could give this store minus stars. The absolute worst McDonald's I have ever been too. My husband and I stopped on our way back home to Florida for a quick bite to eat not only did we wait an hour after ordering to get our food but when we did we had things missing. I told multiple people and still never received what was missing. The girl that worked the counter was arrogant, rude and was doing nothing to fix the issue of the missing items. Needless to say I walked out without my stuff so my anger didn't get the best of me but absolutely the worst experience at any McDonald's I've ever been too.. the most unmanaged, unorganized and all around worst McDonald's
Upon arrival at 7:18 PM one order was placed and a second order at 7:20 PM, and there was one cashier. We are still waiting for our food.
While waiting, I observed two workers walk out on break, several not wearing gloves. One of the two workers put out a cigarette at the entrance door, walked "directly" back in the kitchen. There was a lot of loud unprofessional conversations. The cashier had to leave the register several times to deliver food. Approximately, 7:29 PM, she left the register to take her break. She asked someone in the kitchen to come and serve the customers at the register, no one came and the customer was left standing at the register. Upon her observation, she came off her break back to the register to service the customer that was left standing. We heard profanity in the back. The same guy that left out earlier, that didn't wash his hands, walked out the kitchen again and went outside. Again, he returned, put his cigarette out at the entrance door AGAIN, walked back in the kitchen without washing his hands AGAIN. I have NEVER observed such unprofessional service and UNACCEPTABLE hygienic behavior. 7:37 PM, a couple was standing at the register, and no one came to service them, they leaned towards the counter to request someone take their order. 7:38 PM, we departed.
I prayed over my food three times before I consumed it. I can't believe fast food restaurants are this desperate for workers. If there was a manager on-site, they need MAJOR training. Everyone, that came in after us, received the same exact subpar service. Why should customers have to lean over the counter and say, "is anyone taking orders?"
We were passing through, BUT people say never say, never! For me, NEVER and my family agrees, NEVER. Princeton, WV McDonald's........NEVER!!! Disgusting 🫣 🤮 😝 🤢 😫 🫣
