I’m not one to typically write reviews, but my experience at this Arby’s was completely unbelievable.
We stopped in for a quick bite to eat, and while my mom was being rung up at the counter, I’m assuming the general manager (she was dressed in regular clothes rather than a uniform) was loudly belittling staff members about a register drawer issue. She was yelling over my mom while speaking to an employee who appeared to be on their lunch break in the lobby. It created a very uncomfortable environment for both customers and staff.
To make matters worse, when we went to pay, she took the money out of our hands without saying a word to us. No greeting, no acknowledgment, nothing. We also didn’t receive our change back until roughly 15 minutes later, which was incredibly unprofessional and frustrating.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t even the worst part.
After we got our food and sat down, the same woman sat behind us working on paperwork, which wasn’t an issue at all. A gentleman I believe was another manager then sat near her and showed her a medium fry that was only half full. They discussed how unacceptable it was, which I completely understand. However, the conversation then shifted to what looked like a wrap or sandwich item, and he repeatedly commented that the meat inside was “raw.”
Hearing management openly discussing potentially raw food while customers were actively eating immediately stopped us in our tracks. We ended up throwing the rest of our food away because we no longer felt comfortable eating there.
I understand restaurants can have stressful moments behind the scenes, but these conversations and interactions should never happen openly in front of customers. It was unprofessional, uncomfortable, and honestly concerning.
