Great game day deal and experience for the ND Wisconsin game. Parked there a few blocks from the stadium and got my $20 fee back as a credit for the restaurant. We had planned to eat there anyway due to the good reviews. It didn't disappoint! Pizza was so good! If you're looking for a place to park and a bite to eat before going into the stadium for a game, this is the place.

I got here at 6:27 today. A short 10 minute wait and I was tabled at 6:37. Another really short 5 minute wait and I had my beverage and my order was in at 6:42. The bottom fell out of my experience at this point as I sat there, and sat there, and sat there. Along comes another beverage 10 minutes later. I was watching the kitchen with nothing better to do for 40 minutes and ALL (not some) of the food was being boxed up and going out the back door for delivery. The dining room and ALL of the people in it got nothing but drinks for 30 minutes. I got my pizza 40 minutes later at 7:22. I didn’t get my dessert until 7:46 and I didn’t leave until 7:54. I had to be here 77 minutes for a pizza and a piece cheesecake for what reason? In the world that I come from, diners have precedence and delivery can wait. Who makes you more money? Somebody at home in their recliner? Or somebody at a table in your restaurant? The answer is pretty simple.

Long time GB area resident but first time patron of Sammy's. I have always heard great things about their pizza and was curious if the hype measured up or if it is just a mix of nostalgia and rose colored glasses.
To start, the atmosphere and hospitality were both excellent. It was a very cozy quiet vibe though it was laid out as one giant dinning area with no privacy. All in all the ambiance toes a neutral line between romantic and family friendly that makes it oddly kind of both while not quite either.
As for the pizza, I would put it above average but probably not in the upper echelons. The crust was tavern style thin, square cut slices, with a small outer crust edge. The outer crust was delicious and slightly reminiscent of those grissini breadsticks.
The toppings were fresh, neither abundant nor scarse, and delicious.
The biggest draw back to Sammy's pizza is that the crust doesnt hold up to the toppings. It is tavern thin but also cooked in a traditional pizza oven - not a Flaud gas oven like cranky pats, nor do they slow pan bake their pizzas like a Jake's pizza. As two fellow area staple thin crust pizzarias in the same relative price point, I think it is an important comparison. Sure some might prefer a softer crust to cracker crust, or are willing to sacrifice texture for service time; but for me, I dont think I should have to choose between using a fork or having wet hands when eating pizza.
Now I will admit that all the moisture is probably due to the freshness and raw nature of the veggies on the pizza and experiences may vary based on what toppings you get; but again, there are methods to resolve that problem which arent taken.

Came here for the first time and it definitely will not be my last! We came on Sunday shortly after they opened and got a seat immediately. Our waiter Justin was very friendly and was on point with our needs. The food was a 10 out of 10. Highly recommend the tomato basil soup 🙂

I went here for the first time with my boyfriend, and we had such a wonderful date! The place was packed and full of energy, and the wait wasn't bad at all. The staff were kind and helpful. I got the chicken fettuccine, and because I adore pasta, I have some pretty high expectations. I was totally blown away! It was fresh, filling, and honestly the best fettuccine I've ever had. My boyfriend had the pizza and we split garlic bread, and those items were incredible as well. I've been exploring lots of new places since moving to GB, and this is one that I will absolutely be returning to!
