I’ve never written a review before, but after my recent experiences, I feel like I have to.
A couple of weeks ago, I stopped at McDonald’s to order a smoothie that cost around $6. When I got to the drive-thru window, they never asked me to confirm my order. Instead, they charged my card and handed me a very long receipt. When I looked at it, I realized they had charged me $47 for someone else’s order.
I pointed out the mistake, and after about 10 minutes, they returned my card and told me they had refunded the $47, charged me the $6 for my smoothie, and that the refund would show up in my account within a week(which Is fine, but for some people that amount can make a huge difference).
Unfortunately, that was only the beginning. When they handed me my smoothie, there was coffee all over the inside of the lid and mixed into the top of the drink. I don’t like coffee, so I handed it back and explained the problem. Instead of making a new smoothie, they simply took it inside, replaced the lid, and handed it back. I told them the coffee was still inside the smoothie and asked them to please make a new one.
They eventually made another smoothie, but when I checked it before leaving, it also had coffee all over the inside of the lid and in the drink. At that point, I had to park, go inside, and speak with the manager. After waiting another 10 minutes, someone set a new smoothie on the counter without so much as an apology.
Then today, I decided to get a smoothie once again. I ordered another smoothie through the drive-thru. This time, it was served in a large cup that was only filled to about the amount of a medium—not even close to the fill line for a large. I handed it back and pointed it out. They took it back, topped it off, and handed it back again. Once again, there was coffee all over the inside of it. I told them that I’m not going to accept that and had to wait yet again while they made another smoothie.
This is absolutely ridiculous. Neither visit was during a busy time, so there really isn’t an excuse for these repeated mistakes. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of customer service. Not once did anyone apologize or say, “I’m sorry, let me make that right.” Instead, I had to insist that they remake my order each time.
