I like going to this Safeway AKA Albertsons to me & the hubby lol
But they are always nice and even if I miss understand their add they are polite to me, even if they can’t honor a sale. Today I thought my $40 off coupon was for any kind of shopping but was for online orders.🫣 but the manager gave us $10 off still and these are the reasons I only go to this location. Plaza Safeway is pretty good also but the Rose st one I won’t shop there anymore. They will fight you over $.50

Good selection of groceries. Some workers are rude and disrespectful. Avoiding this place as much as I can.

Avoid this location unless you have free time to waste. Ever since our local Albertsons transitioned into a Safeway, the operational standards have completely collapsed. During a recent trip to the deli counter, I ordered a standard 3/4 lb of food. The employee assisting me had absolutely no idea how to convert basic fractions to a digital scale, openly admitting she didn’t know that 3/4 lb equals .0.75 on her machine. Because of a total lack of job training, she held up the line, weighed the food incorrectly, and let two other customers cut ahead of me while she struggled. No apologies, no rectifying the situation, total lack of customer service on top of it.
This is a systemic issue, not a one-off mistake. I've had this happen multiple times at this store. It mirrors a past experience at this location where I was trapped in a single line for nearly an hour just to purchase ONE Red Bull. Corporate slashed the training budgets when they changed banners, and the paying customers are the ones paying the price. Safeway had to backtrack the getting rid of cash pay, because they probably realized it was a terrible idea and a number of customers including myself couldn’t pay for their groceries without the use of a card. Management needs to step in, properly train their staff on how to use basic equipment, and stop letting our community grocery store slide downhill. I have already taken this up directly with Albertsons/Safeway corporate executive care. I refuse to let this go and become the new normal. Until corporate addresses these issues and implements change, I am going to keep them accountable and am not going to stay quiet.
Also the sixty-something year old lady who “helped” me didn’t even seal or put the stickers on correctly on my food, and she still didn’t weigh them correctly. By that point I was done and was ready to go home.

I have been shopping at Safeway for most of my monthly groceries for around 40 years. I am still shopping there and they still have the best prices around Walla Walla. The food items they carry are always fresh and delicious. Using Safeway club discounts, like digital coupons that you scan into your club card will save a person quite a bit of money. I have saved as much as 40% of the normal cost of my groceries on an order of several hundred dollars. This can be a very substantial amount of money saved. I highly recommend Safeway as an excellent place to shop, and their grocery delivery is top notch as well. They deliver on time and they deliver the right foods, things you actually ordered. I highly recommend Safeway grocery delivery, and that includes all the Safeway stores in Walla Walla.
