- TCTrina ChappelleApr 18, 20262.0I'm not sure what happened but for some strange reason every Safeway I've visited over the past few yrs has consistently had Hands down the worst customer service in the deli department. I'm not sure if it's s corp thing or if the only people who are applying for the position just for the check. Which is sad since I always thought Safeway paid decent wages (when I worked for Safeway they had great pay with a good benefits package). It seems like every Safeway deli I've gone to over the last 5yrs had clerks that either barely do the minimal or did minimal with an attitude that screams I hate my job. Since it's so consistent maybe corp. needs to revamp the hiring policy and maybe give their employees a reason to want to be there for more than just clocking hrs. Btw it really sucks to find out that you threw your money away once more because the deli thinks the chickens fine to sit in the case all day and not refresh . If they're too lazy to toss the item out at least warn people they're toothpicks ! I think I'm done with Safeway for now at least for a while.
