Stanley & Seaforts has the bones of a great spot. The location and room are genuinely nice, and the view is the main draw. The ambience mostly works, though it was undercut by staff carting large boxes of supplies down the hall through the guest area during service. That kind of restocking should be handled the day before, not paraded through the dining room. Our server was solid, maybe a little overwhelmed given our table size, but that's understandable and he handled it fine. The food is where it fell apart. We had a table of 11, and it felt like the kitchen either couldn't handle that size or didn't time it right. Plates came out lukewarm. Both steaks at our end of the table arrived barely warm and drowned in gravy. At this price, the meat should stand on its own, and if there's gravy it should come on the side, not poured over the plate. My fiancée's surf and turf came with three shrimp, which is a stingy portion for the dish. The potatoes and broccoli were cold, and the potatoes had the look and texture of a powdered mix. A lobster soup elsewhere at the table came out cold too. My clam chowder was fine, though I couldn't tell you it tasted fresh. To top it off, another guest's beer arrived with a fly in it. They replaced it, but it shouldn't have left the bar that way. At around $90 a head for food and drinks, the bar is high and the kitchen didn't clear it. The service and setting are worth something, but the food honestly had us wishing we'd gone to Red Lobster. If they can get the kitchen timing and quality to match the room and the floor staff, it'd be a different review.

I have been hearing about this place for years and waited until my boyfriend’s birthday to take him to celebrate. We love going to high end restaurants to enjoy a great steak, it’s our fave hobby. However, we started with the calamari and it tasted like rubbery cardboard so we had to send it back. Then I ordered a filet mignon medium rare, it came out overcooked which I was okay with but then the first bite was terrible. It had ZERO flavor. Like Applebees steak would taste better. I didn’t want to send the steak back when we already sent the calamari back. I left so disappointed in this place for $200+ it should have been a better experience.

This was my first experience at this place. The views are incredible no bad seats . Service was great puilani was amazing very attentive and responsive. Bathrooms clean atmosphere is a vibe. My porkchop was dry and over cooked and looked like it was sitting under heat lamp for too long they said it would come out a little pink it did not it was very well done. My halibut stuffed was just slapped on the plate no artistic or TLC needed a little salt went in the plate at all. Mashed potatoes were good bit it had more flavor than the fish dish the shrimp fettuccine was also dry. Now the drinks amazing fancy old fashioned was great I will get another 1. That's my only complaint other than that.

We have been dining at Stanley & Seafort's for at least 40 years, off and on. Our latest dinner with family (70th birthday) was another excellent experience. Really, the staff is what makes a restaurant special and Toni, our server (hope spelling is correct!) could not have been more attentive. Her attention to detail, prompt service and humorous demeanor made it an enjoyable evening. The dinners were excellent; one was not correct but was taken care of quickly and satisfactorily. The setting was, as always, stunning with the view over the city as the sun set.

When I came in 2024, I enjoyed my time there, so I returned with my family for my graduation dinner, but this time, the service and food were disappointing. We had to wait around 10 minutes to be seated which would have been fine if we had not had a reservation, but we did have a reservation that had been booked for weeks. Our server was nice and it was busy, so I tried to cut them some slack at first when the entrees were taking a long time, but it ended up taking around an hour for them to come out. There were 4 steaks ordered, and only ONE of them was cooked to the correct temperature. All of them were supposed to be medium rare, but two came completely well done and the other was too rare. We didn’t want to have to wait another hour for it to be remade, so we just dealt with it, but it was very disappointing considering the amount of time we waited and the price. I don’t understand how they let the steaks leave the kitchen being so far from the correct temperature. And it’s not like they didn’t know because the two well done steaks came cut into strips, so it was VISIBLY well done, and they STILL decided to send it to the table. While they filled our drinks in decent time, old cups were never picked up, so we ended up with a collection of cups on the table. With how long everything was taking, we took most of the desserts to go. For 6 adults and one child, it was over $400, which is fine since that’s just based off what we ordered, but for that much money, we should have had a much better experience. Also, not as important, but the calamari’s breading falls off half the time when you try to pick one up. I unfortunately can not in good faith recommend this place to anyone.
