  I notice the quality of the food has gone down since last year. Just the flavor, and look of food failed the expectations of last year. I used to eat there once twice a week with drinks. But since I notice the quality of the food dropped a little my visits were less. Cho

  Stanley & Seafort has it all, the food service and atmosphere. We shared the appetizer sample, Cantonese style salmon and the seafood sampler. The was a little too salty for me but everything else delicious. The view of the Bay was lovely. PRO TIP- Sit on the upper level closest to the windows. Your view is better than at the window because your elevated.

  Stanley and Seafort’s has always been an icon for a fine dining experience in Tacoma. However, lately it seems that the service has been lacking. The last two times I have dined here, the coconut shrimp appetizer I had ordered was simply overcooked and my steak was overdone. The dessert that came with the dinner special, the waitress brought an additional second dessert that I ended up paying for it, even though I never asked for it. The second time I came here, service was slower than usual. I ordered the dinner special that came with dessert and wanted to split the dessert with my dad, and ended up paying an additional six dollars just for them to plate it on a second dish. It would be nice if they vocalized that they charged a fee to split the dessert. Otherwise we could’ve just not have done it at all. I have no problem paying for these services -just would’ve been nice to be aware of added on costs. To top it all off our waiter was cheeky enough to drop a business card for us to rate his waiter experience.

  First of all, the people were fabulous. A wonderful hostess. We were seated right away; however, it was a weekday evening; so I would have expected this. An amazing server, who we didn't even know was new. She absolutely pampered us and was terrifically kind and delightful. The food was just less than excellent. The lobster tail was okay, nothing special. My friend had the Cantonese-style salmon, which was very good. My partner's filet mignon was okay. The prices did not justify the meals, as everything is a la carte and hella expensive. The bill, before tip, was $256 for three of us. My biggest complaint was that there are absolutely no vegan entrees, salads, or soups. The only two vegan dish is a side dish of sauteed mushrooms. Very disappointing, especially in this day and age.

  We’ve had terrific experiences here in 20 years of eating here. We’ve also had some less than ideal experiences here. Lately it’s been really great and even when it wasn’t what we expected, they addressed it and made it right. We were just here for a family birthday and it was just as excellent as it should have been. The view is always marvelous (literally the best in the city) and the staff is fantastic. We had what we usually have and that’s the house prime rib. It was cooked correctly (although I’ve learned to ask for a shade darker than I really want, and it comes out great), and the appetizers were delicious. I would not hesitate to celebrate an important occasion here and they’ve got a delightful bar, so just an after work meet up would be perfect too. They’ve been around for a long time for a reason, let’s keep ‘em going that way. Thanks Stanley and Seaforts!
