  I like shopping at Safeway. One of my first jobs was a courtesy clerk at a Safeway store in Yakima. We used paper bags, so handling the groceries was different. Instead of lifting handles, we held them at the base if they were heavy. The bags would tear if I wasn't careful & they smelled like paper. I liked helping the customers place them in their trunks or on their seats with care. The smell of donuts and fresh bread was always good. Generally, all of my memories are of people who are helpful, happy, and respectful at Safeway stores. This store has a bakery, pharmacy, fresh seafood counter, deli, floral department, and Starbucks coffee. Good variety of everything. The service is sometimes a little different than Im used to or hope for at the self check out, so I don't mind the line to have a checker for that. Customer service is always helpful with refunds or other concerns in store or by ☎️ Thank you

  I was on the phone with customer service for the longest time trying to get a refund I had bought chicken, it tasted like plastic and old oil, but they were transferring me to one person to another person at the end I ended up hanging up, because no one was helping. I do not recommend getting Safeway chicken not just on Mondays special but at all. And the women that was at the deli is extremely rude with attitude not the best experience with customer service and deli department.

  Do not recommend chicken on mondays yeah I know it’s $5.99 but still today I got chicken and you could smell it and taste it I don’t know how to explain if the oil was burnt or they did not change it but did not taste good AT ALL

  Used to be an ok experience, but now you have the worst order pickup service. We use this service because we are handicapped and it makes things easier, but lately, you will substitute items without any notice or not give items at all, and it will show as received. Our last five orders were affected, so I decided to call and let them know what's been going on. We were basically brushed off, with complete unprofessional service, and hung up on. Some retraining of your employees seems very necessary.
