If you want to take your family to dinner, go elsewhere. They will charge you an extra 18%! They did not have to move table or chairs, only one waitress which was fine. Just another way to price gouge. Then at check out I asked if the bill, which seemed high, included the tip. She said no so I tipped 15%. When I looked at the receipt, it shows a 35% tip. I asked and she says, oh, that was the service fee not the tip??????

Avoid ordering online from Black Straw. I placed a $90 food order through what appeared to be the Valley location’s website, only to find out after paying that the order was actually sent to the North location. When I contacted the restaurant, they refused to refund the order, transfer it, or remake it at the Valley location. I didn’t have time to drive 45 minutes across town to pick up food from a different location, so I was simply out $90 with nothing to show for it. To make matters worse, the employees I spoke with were rude and showed no interest in helping resolve the issue. If you order from Black Straw, double-check exactly which location your order is going to. My experience was frustrating, costly, and the customer service was extremely disappointing. I won’t be returning.Avoid ordering online from Black Straw. This place has delicious food and generous portions. The egg rolls were fantastic and I feel like it's getting harder to find a place with a good egg roll. My wife got a tofu dish and even I thought the tofu was well prepared (love smaller pieces made extra crispy). Their fried saucy dishes aren't just mushy sugar bombs, they retained some crispiness even after being delivered. I haven't tried too many other Chinese places in Spokane but I have a feeling these guys are near the top of the list for best Chinese in Spokane.

The service was super fast! I got there just before 3 and there were SIX ladies standing behind the counter, all looking at their phones. I got my food exceptionally fast, awesome! The egg flour soup was room temperature. Egg foo young was steaming hot and delicious. The chow mein was HUGE, warm and flavorless! It was very oily and had a hint of soy sauce flavor. I mentioned to my server (Heather) that it was very bland and asked for some additional sause/flavor she informed me "it looks exactly how it should and it was cooked to order, we can't just make a sause" she offered me a little cup of sweet chili oil instead? I decided to take it home and fix it myself, $17 for some oily noodles no thanks!
