Service is average. Family run probably so their kid acts as server. He looks disinterested and needs a lot of guidance. Food is below average. Dosa was overcooked. Tomato chutney was awful. Mutton in mutton biryani was burnt. Didn’t provide salna and raita was basically rings of raw onion dipped in yogurt. The fried medhu vada had black burnt stuff attached to it, like the leftover previously fried stuff when frying the vada. Never coming back here again, went with high hopes and left very disappointed.

Love the gongura curry, but it was all so good! It’s rare to find some of the more southern Indian dishes in Seattle, but Chennai lives up to its name!

I had a terrible dinner experience here. I ordered both the chicken and mutton biryani, and both were completely inedible. The rice was undercooked and hard, and the entire dish was swimming in oil. As you can see in the goat/mutton meat was incredibly dry, heavily shredded, and a dark, unappealing color. It looked and tasted like old, stale meat that had been reheated or sitting around for way too long. Between the poorly prepared food and the questionable freshness of the meat, this place seriously needs a visit from the health department for food quality control. Avoid this place if you value good food and food safety. Highly disappointed.

This is our go to spot in Seattle for dependably delicious Indian food. We're so thankful (and lucky!) they are in our neighborhood!

We had the garlic chutney dosa, plain dosa and idli. They make the basics very well. Sambhar chutneys and podi were all very good.
