  Worsening discriminatory customer service Over the past year or so, I've had occasions where staff ignored me, could have said they weren't sure about who was next, or similar professional and polite things but chose not to. Other stores don't have this problem; just this particular Safeway. Instance one: I went in early one morning to get some groceries. I needed help, and signaled this with the self-checkouts' help option. Despite my being one of only a couple of customers (if not the only one at the time), and despite the staff standing around talking, no one came to help me. I ended up walking out, leaving my potential purchases. Instance two: While using the self-checkout, I needed help with something. I signaled for help. No one came, which was not surprising as they were fairly busy. As I was waiting, another customer came up and started using the machine behind me. They also needed help, signaled for it and shortly after staff showed up to help. Rather than say they weren't sure who was next, or even acknowledging me, they just ignored me and went to the other person. How hard would it have been to at least acknowledge that I was also waiting? It would have been professional and courteous. Instance three: I was in a couple weeks ago, waiting to check out. As I had hot food in containers that won't seal properly, I wanted to get a rubber band to wrap around it. The one checkout line was packed, with 2 customers with very full baskets waiting. As is too common, no one was near the self checkout area. I went to the checkout in the spirits area, as no one was there, and waited. Staff showed up, they had been helping a customer. Customer cut me off, staff started checking them out. Staff did not even acknowledge me. How hard would a simple, "please excuse me, let me finish with this customer" (or similar statement) have been? Again, I put my potential purchases down and left.

  Got told I couldn't shop with a bag I have been shopping with for years. I understand the no duffle bags, suitcases, large backpacks. This isn't a large bag by any means, it's also a roll top. I have been in that store countless times with it. I have no pockets. It carries my medicine, phone, wallet, keys. It's a safety issue. Leaving it up front when I see security constantly distracted and not doing their job? Ridiculous. Walked out and went to another store to do my shopping. Panhandling is out of control here as well.

  Administrative code 296.800.31005(2) and 31025(1) are violated on a daily basis when the store locks one of the front entrance/exit sliding door for the entire day. Exit routes must be "always free of obstructions", and there must be two (2) available during working hours.

  The place seems like a crime scene. I would find another store to shop at. This store has really lost its charm IMO

  The smell of urine in the parking lot because the restroom is closed.
