I recently revisited this McDonald's location and left feeling extremely frustrated and disappointed by the customer service.
We came through the drive-thru specifically asking for large ice waters because we also needed water for our dog. At the first window, the employee told us we were not being charged, so we proceeded under the impression that everything was taken care of.
Things quickly became confusing when employees twice attempted to hand us a fairly large food order that wasn't ours. Both times, we were honest and immediately let them know it was the wrong order. After all of that confusion, another employee, whom I believe was named Macy, informed us that we would actually be charged for the waters despite what we had already been told by the first employee.
What bothered me most wasn't even the charge itself—it was the attitude. Mistakes happen, and businesses have policies, but customer service should still involve professionalism and courtesy. Instead, Macy came across as dismissive and rude. When we expressed our frustration and mentioned speaking with a manager, she pointed to her name tag, smiled, and acted as though she couldn't care less about the complaint. That interaction alone left a very negative impression.
Considering that we had been honest about the incorrect orders they attempted to give us and had already been told the waters would be free, it felt unreasonable to be treated as though we were asking for something outrageous. We were simply trying to get a couple of cups of ice water, including some for our dog.
The entire experience showed a lack of communication between employees and a lack of concern for customer satisfaction. I understand businesses need to follow policies, but there is a right and wrong way to treat customers. Unfortunately, this visit made me feel unwelcome, and it has made me seriously reconsider returning to this location in the future.
