I’ve had too many bad experiences with this Safeway. I accidentally bought milk that was bad, bought burger meat packed yesterday that was spoiled, found cream cheese being sold that was expiring in a couple of days. It’s not a good Safeway.

All right, look. I know people hate their jobs, and I know working at a Safeway would probably be rough—especially this Safeway. There’s one nice guy, and I’ve heard he’s just a creep. The poor deli lady works her butt off, while the store manager-type guy acts like he owns the place, rolling around with a shopping cart and telling people to stick to the side of the aisle so he can get through and restock the chocolate sauce in the middle of the biggest rush of the day, when there are only express lanes open, two of which take cash. There are lots of issues with this store, and I’m obviously frustrated, but this Safeway really stinks. Something needs to change—hire better people or completely overhaul the place, because it’s not worth it in its current state. I’m giving it two stars because it serves the basic purpose of being a grocery store, but I’d rather drive 30 minutes out of my way before I ever shop here again. Not to mention the people checking receipts at the door. They seem completely pointless. I’ve heard they make around $40 an hour, which is hard to understand when it feels like the actual store employees don’t get nearly the same level of support. The store already has cameras above the self-checkouts, so I don’t see why they need receipt checkers standing there doing next to nothing. They also don’t need all the gates and extra security measures that just make shopping more frustrating. The whole place feels backwards. Instead of focusing on customer service and supporting the employees who are actually keeping the store running, they seem more concerned with treating everyone like a potential thief. I genuinely hope this store either makes some major changes or shuts down altogether, because in its current state it’s one of the worst shopping experiences I’ve had.
