He was extremely rude and unwelcoming. There was no greeting or basic customer service the first thing he said to me was, “What do you want?” When I tried to understand the menu and my options, he showed no willingness to explain anything and was very quick to send me to the tablet to place the order myself. For context, I’m from South Africa, and this was my first time ordering this type of food, such as a sushi burrito or sushi bowl. Not everyone who walks into your restaurant is already familiar with the menu or ordering process. A little patience, kindness, and basic customer service would have gone a long way. What makes this even more upsetting is that this was not an isolated incident. This is the second time I’ve experienced this behavior from him. His attitude toward me made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome, and as a Black customer, I was left questioning whether I was being treated this way because of my race. I cannot speak to his intentions, but that is genuinely how these repeated interactions made me feel. After experiencing this twice, I will not be returning to this restaurant. I am extremely disappointed that someone who interacts directly with customers is allowed to treat people in such a dismissive and disrespectful manner. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses the level of customer service being provided.
